Morning everyone. :-)
22 C but that cool strong wind still blowing :-(.
Kandj OH was well behaved this week. He normally veers off all over the place but he was being careful with his back - more about that later - he walked around with me and I placed most of the things in the trolley. There was only 1 place where we separated. Some evenings we have different meals, I have to eat a low carb diet and cook food for both of us and add potatoes, rice pasta etc for him. There are times however when he likes to have pizza and I can't eat them so we always keep some pizzas in the freezer. He just went to the freezers and found 3 pizzas he liked.
OH's back - to say he's his own worst enemy is an understatement. A couple of days ago I'm at the sink washing up and our next door neighbour appeared at the window. Her white cat was missing and he loves to hide under our plumbago when he escapes. She asked to go on the garden. He's deaf and lives indoors but is a bit of a Houdini. OH went out to join her, to help. I'd finished the washing up and walked towards the sitting room as OH came in from the front patio. He told me he'd been out on the back field where the cat had been found and retrieved. Then I got the full story about how he got there. Minna (neighbour) spotted the cat on the field sunning himself in the evening sun from our garden. She then walked around the 2 houses to get to the cat. My OH however decided he could get there much quicker. The height of our back wall off the back patio is about 2 ft but the drop the other side is about 6 ft . Over he went and lowered himself down then dropped the last bit which was quite someway as it's a thick wall and he had his arms across the width to stabilise himself. I don't think he needs any sympathy because he jarred himself yet again. He's not too bad today but I've told him not to complain as it's his own fault and I've said he's to put his brain in gear before he moves in the future. :-S
What can you do with him ? :-(.
May go out this evening, I'll wait and see how he is.
Have a good day. <3

Morning all :-)
19 C - where's the summer. No wind but rained twice so far this morning, lots of thunder during the night but little rain here.
Next door's cat, Mozart, came in to complain this morning. He's lost his winter coat so think he's moaning about the temperature. OH was still in bed so he went upstairs and had another moan up there. He's a very vocal cat. :-)
Week tomorrow our next visitors arrive, they are in Cyprus until September. Not here all the time. Not sure how long we'll have them. They are spending a month at a friend's place looking after her 2 dogs and a cat whilst she goes to UK. The rest is in the lap of the gods. :-S It's basically 2 other lots of people asking them to house/dog/cat sit and they got their flights to cover dates given. 1 lot the female is now very ill and the others keep changing their dates, the latest was way past our friends leaving the island as they have a holiday booked in America late September. The second couple are great dithers and usually end up being rescued from the situations they get into. Their hols in UK have changed from their first idea of the last week in August for 3 weeks then 2 weeks only in September to 4 weeks from mid September now. They once booked flights for Christmas week to just into the New Year and realised in mid December they hadn't sorted out the dog. We refused as not only does he mark curtains and furniture when he stays with you but he's very spoiled and as my OH found out tries to bite you if you make him do something he doesn't want to. :-( They found other friends to take him but they only looked after him twice before they also refused to have him, that's why they ask our friends to house/dog sit.
Fortunately our friends are great fun so if they end up here it won't be a tragedy. :-D
Daughter had to interview a couple who want work over winter time in UK as they have a chalet/hotel in the Pyrenees, just the French side, where they spend late spring and summer. They are civil engineers like our daughter. Don't know how that went but she was taken with the idea of going to that part of France. She flew out yesterday and e-mailed how lovely it was last night.
50 yrs after my last French lesson
Avoir une bonne journée tout :-) <3

Bonjour à tous, :-)
Had a disastrous morning - mouse to laptop wouldn't work. OH took a look, it's off to the bin it's U/S (unserviceable) so he found another. Waited for it to sort it self out and found that wasn't too good so that's off to the big mouse hole in the sky. The next 1 is okay so that's been downloaded and I'm back on-line :-D.
The trouble was when I went to check my e-mails - I had an empty account. OH couldn't get in with the password then he was sent to a page about security and he also had to add a security number as well as a correct password. That did it we were into my account and all was there, then it started to download everything I'd received and sent over the 3 years I've had this account. :-( Boy it took a long time, now I've got to ditch all the new e-mails as they're duplicates. There was 1 new one so dealt with that and all others are going to be deleted. Keep me quite for a while ;-)
Today would have been my father's 99th birthday. Happy Birthday dad, miss you.

He's the baby on grandma's lap in the photo. :-)
Only 18 C when I got up this morning, dull and overcast at the moment, crept up to 22 C but cool breeze again.
Have you seen the update to Dizzi's death notice at the top of the page?
Hope you all have a good day :-) <3

Good Morning Everyone :-) :-) <3
It's dark, and damp and quite chilly here in South West Wales today!
Pat, I'm sorry you've had a morning of problems! I'm thinking of you on what would have been your father's 99th Birthday <3 <3 <3
It would have been my father's 93rd Birthday last week. He was killed in 1976. It doesn't matter how many years go by, you still remember the dates and feel a little sad :-( <3
Wishing you all a good day Love Jem<3

Hello to all
I agree Jem that there is no time scale for grieving, but as the years go by, the happier memories come to mind a little bit more readily.
Pat, I have just seem the new posting on Dizzi's thread and have replied..... thankyou. I hope that you will have a better day today.
Hoping everyone is enjoying the little bit of sunshine we have here this morning. I see the long range weather forecast is for this month to be in the 30's........ phewww!!

Bonjour à tous, :-)
Daughter leaves France on Wednesday so back to English then. Boy is my French rusty.
18 C when I got up again, crept up to 23C so had breakfast outside, just finished when the cool breeze started. It's 25 C now but it is now very windy so feels a lot cooler. Hear you're expecting high temperatures at the weekend. Is it you lot who've pinched our weather. :-(
Sorry you lost your father in 1976 Jem. My father died April 1981, 5 weeks before his 65th birthday. Miss him so much, would love to tell him our son looks just like him and both mine have skills from him, son with cooking and daughter engineering - they are a chef and civil engineer. Both have his love of music. My 2 were 7 and 3 when he died. Feel they missed out on a very special man who left me with wonderful memories. That's what's important, the sadness of the day is fleeting because of the happy memories. :-)
OH's back is a little better, he's not saying anything but I can tell by how he's walking and sitting down. He knows there's no sympathy from me for being so stupid. Who drops from a wall when you can walk around in about a minute especially when you have a back problem? :-S
E - mails all sorted, heaven knows what happened but that was the only thing affected by the problem with the mouse. OH took mouse to pieces and found a section was broken so would never work again. It's now gone.
It'll be a difficult day for Dizzi's family today. My MIL death was a sudden after a stay in hospital so a PM was done to make sure there was no fault attributed to the hospital's care and treatment. MIL's death was nothing to do with what she was in hospital for so it did put our minds to rest, just a coincidence.
Been watching a good programme on Elizabeth 1 and the Amada. It's fronted by Dan Snow. Anita Dobson is playing Elizabeth. The computer graphics to show the ships are great. Love programmes that make history live, it makes history more accessible.
Am going to watch the test match later, looks like a New Zealand win or a draw, but then that's what I thought last time and we won. Cricket can change so quickly. Oh well off to do the ironing.
Have a good day all. :-) <3

Good Afternoon Roll Callers :-) :-) <3
Thinking of Dizzi's Family and Friends today <3
Well, we have rain and gale force winds here in South West Wales today! Typical when I have a backlog of washing! Having said that, I wash and iron most days!:-D
Hi Kandj You are right about the memories. As time goes by the sadness is eased by remembering the good times :-)
Hi Pat It is very sad that the children did not get to know your Dad properly, and for him to see how well they have grown into adults. My Dad died at 53 in a fire at our home. I was only 18 at the time, and it was hard as he'd brought me up as a single parent. I used to wish often, when my daughter was born in 1980, that he would have been able to see her.
I have a very naughty mouse too :-| :-D It is very hyperactive and posts in duplicate, even triplicate at times. I click off a tab and it shuts 3 of them down. I scroll down and it clicks the internet off! Highlighting to C&P, or drag, is difficult. It is not willing to do that much :-D :-D :-D :-D Then it highlights when I don't want it too! :-| I must get another one soon!:-D
It's Grandson 1's 16th Birthday today. He's not doing much today as he had to sit a GCSE this morning and has one tomorrow and Wednesday. He is going out for a meal with his friends on Wednesday night.
I have made him a cake. I couldn't make my mind up which to do, so I made a big Vanilla Sandwich cake (2 round tins) and cut each in half to make 2 cakes, which was good cos, each cake is now a D shape- his initial!:-D :-D
The one half has Chocolate Buttercream in the filling covered in Melted milk chocolate with flake crumbled into that and his name in Smarties on it.
The other half is filled with jam and has unflavoured buttercream on the top with his initials in White Chocolate Buttons :-D :-D :-D
I hope you will all have a good day Love Jem <3

Update on 'Our Dizz'
The coroner has been in touch with the family today, 1st June.
Sadly Dizzi had a heart attack. There was no indication that Dizzi would have known or have been in any pain when it happened.
A small comfort to know that she didn't suffer.
Miss you Dizz <3 <3 <3 <3

Good Morning Everyone :-)
Arrived back home yesterday... early hours... had a lovely time although the weather was unbelievably changeable. One day I was outside sunning myself and next day I had to buy an umbrella while I was shopping, it was so bad. We did have a good time though.. the grandies had a good time at the beach and also exploring the countryside. Me and DH had a nice rest also.
Managed to get all the washing done yesterday... yet m-o-r-e ironing :-(
My Mum arrives here again so I have to get going... have a good day, everyone :-) <3

Bonjour à tous, :-)
Thank you Patrick for letting us know about the PM. Glad she doesn't seemed to have suffered. Hope her family get some comfort from that.
Kandj, I don't really want the practise :-D. Tried to learn a little Greek here but they all speak English back to you. Our solicitor told us not to bother learning Greek, her actual words were - don't waste your time, do something else like learn to dance. If they want your money they'll speak English. :-)
Solrosen, welcome back. Glad you enjoyed yourself. I have ironing to do today and finish the spring cleaning upstairs. We have friends arriving on Sunday so getting it all done before they arrive as we go out a lot with them. We also have friends arriving today who have their own apartment in Limassol so we'll be out with them. I foresee a busy time :-D
Jem, I'm so sorry about your father. I have to be thankful because I had 32 years with mine and he knew my children. My son cherishes a book of my father's, he asked my mother for it after dad's death and one he got about the building of spitfires at Castle Bromwich which is where my father was during the war. It was my mother who was in the army, ATS in Nottingham, rewiring the damaged tanks. The army taught her to be an electrician, any electrical problem at home mum dealt with. I knew how to wire up a plug and about fuses from quite a young age. :-) Didn't realise for many years that I belonged to a very odd family for the time. Mum did the electrics, dad was a hands on father and helped with housework and was the better cook so cooked Sunday dinner every week. Their rolls weren't defined by the time so I grew up thinking I could do whatever I wanted and went into science, at the time very male dominated. Perhaps this is why I have a son who is a chef and a daughter who is a civil engineer. Dad was a new man before the term was thought of. :-) I have his love of sport, both playing and watching, we went to Walsall and Aston Villa watching the football. We often had discussions re sport much to the bewilderment of mum and my sister. :-)
Have a good day all :-) <3

Thank you Patrick for sharing this news. It is sad and upsetting for all who followed Dizzi on Genes Reunited threads, but her sudden death must be distressing beyond belief for her family and close friends. Ongoing support in thought and prayer to Dizzi's close family right now.
(((hugs))) for Carol. Stay strong. xx
Solrosen, I hope that you have sorted through all the washing/ironing now and that you will enjoy the visit from your Mum.
Pat, You sound as if you are going to be busy now. Enjoy being out with your friends.
It is blowing a gale here today. I was silly to put washing on the line first thing, as it has either twisted around the clothesline or pulled out the pegs and blown off the line. I have "lost" a tee-shirt and a tea towel??? If you find these items can you give them back please!!
Enjoy whatever you have planned for the rest of today.

Morning all :-)
Thank you Patrick, it's very thoughtful of you keeping us updated. I'll be thinking of you all on the 19th.
Well the summer onslaught is going to happen soon. 2 couples already here, next ones here on Sunday and staying for a few days. Another couple next week who will be staying at a friends house to help look after the dogs. At least another 4 people here in July and now son talking about July. Daughter has said she's thinking about coming in October. Well that's June, July, August, September and perhaps October sorted. By sorted I mean a blur. :-D By the way I don't drink so the blur is usually trying to sort out the diary and getting to see everyone. I should start to count the number of meals out. ;-)
A little warmer today at 24 C but very windy again. I want to get in the sea, haven't got in there this year yet. :-( Like walking in the sea, it's good for me as walking around here is difficult or dangerous as there's either no footpath or if there's footpaths they are very uneven. :-(
Daughter on her way to the airport, she'll be back in UK just after 5 pm so she'll be home before 7 pm. She has really enjoyed her few days away.
Hope you all have a good day :-) <3

Thank you Patrick.. i agree with Pat and also thank you for keeping us all updated. Very many will uphold you and all Dizzi's family and friends at 12noon on the 19th.
A much calmer day here today. No strong gale force winds and No rain either but still quite cool despite the sun trying to get through a very cloudy sky..... still I'm not grumbling at all.
You will be very busy Pat out and about and entertaining your family and friends for a few months to come. It sounds hectic but it also sounds a fun time ahead for you all.
I was wanting to get some more gardening done this afternoon but never got on with it. Cleared out a wardrobe instead. Now there is less clutter and 3 bags of clothes to take to the charity shop in the morning..... it feels good to be all tidy again.
I hope everyone sleeps well tonight. xxx
