We used to have loads of cards. My father was a sales rep and sent company ones to his clients. In turn they sent him one. Some people became personal friends so that was another. He was a Free Mason.....more cards! |

Yes, I remember we got loads of cards and strung them across the picture rails. I am not sure how far back I am remembering though. Presents I remember back when I was from about 3 (1943) but cards I am remembering probably post war years, thin paper as Kay said and 'traditional' pictures. did they have cards during the war? I suppose they did. |

Look, I wouldn't dream of doing this now but much laughter could be derived from a piece of string with a lump of bread tied to one end and some newspaper tied to the other. |

or a cardboard milk bottle top with the "straw" hole pushed out - then wind wool around and around the top and cut the edges and hey presto - you have a pom pom!!! |

I kept the net stockings I used for the children for years, same ones every year, Never seemed the same not using the net ones. A couple of years ago I found one in the decorations box. It must have been 50 years old. I don't think i have got it now. :-D |

Ann so the info on your last two posts at 1038 and 1039 seem to differ re tangerines as they have a description of both mandarine and tangerine that are not exactly the same. |
