THIS MAKES ME LAUGH!!!
Filmed at the 49th annual Renaissance Pleasure Faire in Irwindale California on May 21, 2011
SOSBAN FACH ..... POXY BOGGARDS
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CeD1rqOIlPw
Sosban Fach is a nickname for LLANELLI in South Wales. This comes from Llanelli's history of tin plating industry.
New verses were added to Sosban Fach.. In October 31st 1972, Llanelli RFC beat the All Blacks 9-3 after which was added ... "WHO BEAT THE ALL BLACKS (3X) BUT GOOD OLD SOSBAN FACH"
And remembering that on 17th January 1967 Llanelli RFC beat Australia 11-0...also added to Sosban Bach... "WHO BEAT THE WALLA-WALLABIES (3X) BUT GOOD OLD SOSBAN FACH" !
This is a nonsense song! but fun!
Here is the English literal translation
English (literal translation) Mary-Ann has hurt her finger, And David the servant is not well. The baby in the cradle is crying, And the cat has scratched little Johnny. A little saucepan is boiling on the fire, A big saucepan is spilt on the floor, And the cat has scratched little Johnny.
Little Dai the soldier, Little Dai the soldier, Little Dai the soldier, And his shirt tail is hanging out.
Mary-Ann's finger has got better, And David the servant is in his grave; The baby in the cradle has grown up, And the cat is 'asleep in peace'. A little saucepan is boiling on the fire, A big saucepan is boiling on the floor, And the cat is 'asleep in peace'.
Little Dai the soldier, Little Dai the soldier, Little Dai the soldier, And his shirt tail is hanging out.
Old Mary Jones went to the fair in Caerau, To buy a tea set; But Mary and her teacups ended up in a ditch, Through the consumption of rather too much "tea". A little saucepan is boiling on the fire, A big saucepan is boiling on the floor, And the cat is 'asleep in peace'.

AND NOW I'D LIKE TO FEATURE A VERY SPECIAL MAN....
RAY GRAVELL (1951-2007) <3
Born in the next village to me, this Welsh Rugby Giant showed great kindness to my family!
I knew him a little, as he lived in our village for a while. Also through my work with the local newspaper.
My brother knew him very well, having attended the same Grammar school, being just days apart in age. Also socially in village life.
We had a tragedy in 1976, when we lost our father and our home in a fire. My brother was a big rugby player at local level. Ray Gravell kitted my brother out from head to toe with all new rugby gear!
The last time I saw Ray, he was at our village carnival. Sitting in a wheelchair having not long had his leg amputated (from complications of diabetes). He was judging competitions and giving out prizes. Laughing and joking with everyone!
He died not long later in 2007.

No Welsh Celebration would be complete without a bowl of warming Cawl!
Here are some recipes!
Traditonally "Cawl" a Welsh Stew, is made with lamb, vegetables and leeks, although beef is now used too.
Cawl Serves 4 NB: This dish is best made the day before serving. Ingredients • 1kg/2lb 3oz neck of lamb (on the bone), preferably Welsh, cut into serving pieces • 2 litres/3 pints 10½fl oz lamb stock • 225g/8oz potatoes, peeled and chopped • 225g/8oz onions, peeled and chopped • 225g/8oz leeks, trimmed and sliced into 1cm/½in slices • 225g/8oz carrots, peeled and chopped • 225g/8oz swede, peeled and chopped Preparation method 1. Place the lamb into a large pan and pour over the stock. Bring the liquid to the boil, then reduce the heat until it is simmering and continue to simmer for one hour. 2. Add the chopped vegetables and continue to cook for a further hour. Remove from the heat, cover and set aside to cool overnight. 3. When you are ready to serve the stew, return the mixture to the boil and continue to boil for 15 minutes, or until completely heated through. 4. To serve, divide the cawl equally among four to six serving plates. Serve with crusty bread and Welsh cheese.
This Cawl recipe was sent to me by SHAUN MAGICWALES
I have named it after him..
CAWL HUD GYMRU (Wales Magic Cawl)
INGREDIENTS: 1 tbsp Lard 2 Onions, roughly chopped 4 Large Carrots, thickly sliced 1 small Swede, cubed 1lb Braising Beef or Neck of Lamb 1lb Smoked Bacon Joint, cut into pieces 12 Black Peppercorns 1 Clove 2 Bay Leaves 4 Sprigs Fresh Thyme Water or stock to cover 1lb Potatoes, cut into large cubes 4 Small Leeks, very thinly sliced for garnish
METHOD: 1. Heat the lard in a large saucepan or flame-proof casserole. Add the onions, carrots and swede and brown on all sides. Remove from the heat and set aside. 2. Cut meat into equal pieces, and add to the pan and brown on all sides. 3. Return the vegetables to the pan with the meat and add the bacon and herbs. Cover with water or stock and bring to the boil. 4. Skim the surface then reduce the heat, partially cover and simmer for 2 hours, stirring from time to time and keeping the liquid level topped up. 5. Add the potatoes to the pan and continue to simmer for a further 20-30 minutes until the potatoes are tender. 6. To serve - Garnish with lots of finely chopped raw leeks. Serve hot.

Now for a beautiful version of a Welsh Favourite Song
Very stripped back and beautifully sung!
AR HYD Y NOS ........ MEINYR GWILYM
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiB3zmvFPkw&list=PL7CF7EF5FD4F32CAC&index=16
WELSH Holl amrantau'r sêr ddywedant Ar hyd y nos "Dyma'r ffordd i fro gogoniant," Ar hyd y nos. Golau arall yw tywyllwch I arddangos gwir brydferthwch Teulu'r nefoedd mewn tawelwch Ar hyd y nos.
O mor siriol, gwena seren Ar hyd y nos I oleuo'i chwaer ddaearen Ar hyd y nos. Nos yw henaint pan ddaw cystudd Ond i harddu dyn a'i hwyrddydd Rhown ein golau gwan i'n gilydd Ar hyd y nos.
ENGLISH TRANSLATION:
All the stars' twinkles say All through the night "This is the way to the realm of glory," All through the night. Darkness is another light That exposes true beauty The Heavenly family in peace All through the night.
O, how cheerful smiles the star, All through the night To light its earthly sister All through the night. Old age is night when affliction comes But to beautify man in his late days We'll put our weak light together All through the night.

Good Morning Everyone from Radio Jem ;-) ;-) :-D :-D
I do hope there will BE an EVERYONE... or at least a SOMEONE :-D :-D
My Wales Rugby Thread was first called RADIO JEM by the very much missed JUSTJOHN!
I will miss him very much today :-(
So I'm dedicating my first song of the day to my friend John, who introduced me to it!
YMA O HYD .................... DAFYDD IWAN
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjFHqMxLGjg
A MUST LISTEN TO SONG...Even if you don't speak Welsh!
For any Welsh speakers who want to sing along....
YMA O HYD ....DAFYDD IWAN
copied and pasted from Wikipedia..but while singing along, I have just noticed some errors!!!!!
Dwyt ti'm yn cofio Macsen, Does neb yn ei nabod o; Mae mil a chwe chant o flynyddoedd Yn amser rhy hir I'r co'; Pan aeth Magnus Maximus o Gymru Yn y flwyddyn tri-chant-wyth-tri, A'n gadael yn genedl gyfan A heddiw: wele ni!
[Chorus] Ry'n ni yma o hyd, Ry'n ni yma o hyd, Er gwaetha pawb a phopeth, Er gwaetha pawb a phopeth Er gwaetha pawb a phopeth Ry'n ni yma o hyd. Ry'n ni yma o hyd, Er gwaetha pawb a phopeth, Er gwaetha pawb a phopeth Er gwaetha pawb a phopeth Ry'n ni yma o hyd.
Chwythed y gwynt o'r Dwyrain, Rhued y storm o'r mor, Hollted y mellt yr wybren A gwaedded y daran encor, Llifed dagrau'r gwangalon A llyfed y taeog y llawr Er dued yw'r fagddu o'n cwmpas Ry'n ni'n barod am doriad y wawr!
[Chorus]
Cofiwn I Facsen Wledig Adael ein gwlad yn un darn A bloeddiwn gerbron y gwledydd 'Mi fyddwn yma tan Ddydd y Farn! ' Er gwaetha pob Dic Sion Dafydd, Er gwaetha 'rhen Fagi a'I chriw Byddwn yma hyd ddiwedd amser A bydd yr iaith Gymraeg yn fyw!
ENGLISH TRANSLATION:
You don't remember Macsen, Nobody knows him; One thousand and six hundred years Is a time too long to remember; When Magnus Maximus left Wales In the year 383 Leaving us a whole nation And today - Look at us!
[Chorus] We are still here x2 In spite of everyone and everything x3 We are still here x2 In spite of everyone and everything x3 We are still here. [End of Chorus]
Let the wind blow from the East Let the storm roar from the sea Let the lightning split the heavens And the thunder shout "Encore!" Let the tears of the faint-hearted flow And the servile lick the floor Despite the blackness around us We are ready for the breaking of the dawn!
[Chorus]
We remember that Macsen the Emperor Left our country in one whole piece, And we shall shout before the nations 'We'll be here until Judgement Day!' Despite every Dic Siôn Dafydd Despite old Maggie and her crew, We'll be here until the end of time, And the Welsh language will be alive!
WHAT A ROUSING WAY TO START THE DAY! :-D :-D :-D :-D

Hi Shaun :-)
Let's hope our boys take their cue from you and put the MAGIC back in WALES ;-) :-D
Yes our lovely Jonathan Davies is not fit in time for the opening game sadly! :-(
George North is playing Centre in Jon's place, which means he will be working in close partnership with Jamie Roberts (number 12). It should be interesting to see how that change works out.
The brilliant Liam Williams will now take the Left-Wing (number 11) position instead of George.
I'm pleased that Dan Biggar has made Fly-Half (10) in preference to Rhys Priestland. He will be used to working with fellow Osprey Rhys Webb, who has been put in Scrum-Half position (9)
Mike Phillips' number 9 shirt doesn't seem to fit him this time!!! ;-) ;-) :-D Only teasing. Anyone who has seen my Rugby Threads before will know that Mike Phillips is a favourite of mine!:-D :-D Mike has been relegated to the bench.
Some big names have been left out of the squad too!
Adam Jones, Cardiff Blues / Wales Tight Head Prop (number 3 position) has not made the Wales squad. Neither has James Hook, currently playing Fly-Half for Gloucester.
According to The Mail Online- Wales boss Warren Gatland has told autumn Test selection casualties Adam Jones and James Hook ‘the door is not closed’.
THE BEST BIT!!!
OUR WONDERFUL LEIGH HALFPENNY IS BACK !! <3 Leigh dislocated his shoulder in the Wales v England match during the Six Nations Championship earlier this year!
HERE IS THE WALES SQUAD FOR NOVEMBER IN IT'S ENTIRETY-
Backs: L Williams (Scarlets), L Halfpenny (Toulon), T Prydie (Newport Gwent Dragons), G North (Northampton), A Cuthbert (Cardiff Blues), H Amos (Newport Gwent Dragons), S Williams (Scarlets), J Davies (Clermont Auvergne), J Roberts (Racing Metro), C Allen (Cardiff Blues), R Priestland (Scarlets), D Biggar (Ospreys), M Phillips (Racing Metro), R Webb (Ospreys), R Williams (Scarlets).
