As long as we live near towns, which we do, then I'm happy :-D :-D :-D

Village life can be claustrophobic. If there comes a time when neither of us can drive, we'd need to go back to town life - there's not even a shop or a bus service here :-) :-) :-)

I can see that GiN about being private, I would like to be involved
in village life, as you say the peace and quiet must be lovely :-)

We are quiet for the area we are in as we live outside the centre of town :-)

Emma it ok living in a village but when we were growing up we were only

It is up to a point, Emma, but you sometimes find you can't be as private as you are in a town - everybody knows your business. On the plus side, we all look out for each other. I had always lived in a big town until I came here 30 years ago, and it came as a bit of a culture shock.
I think the plusses outwiegh the minuses, though - I appreciate the peacefullness! :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Mine tends to take on too much - he's now the unofficial handy man as well as treasurer for our village hall. He enjoys it all, but I wish he'd say NO sometimes! :-| :-D ;-)

Barb - you are lucky! Our window cleaner doesn't want to clean our conservatory/utility room unless I give him double the rate! He's not very good, so he can go sing for it! :-0 :-0 :-0
Can't wait for him to retire, then we can get a better one. OH keeps saying he'll do it, but he hasn't so far :-| :-D ;-)
