I agree with everything everyone has said - I absolutely hate it! I told them so last week and also that I shan't be renewing at the end of this month :-|

As others have also said - heaven help the newbies (that is, if they get any - they will certainly be losing a lot of oldies)!!

Just canceled my auto subs payment, it is absolute c..p.

Me thinks they will be putting their price up if others give up when really it would be better if they gave us back the old one.

I had first subscribed a year ago, but never got around to using it. I decided to renew this year, and the first time I tried to use it I was told I needed a certain number (I forget what) of credits to see what I wanted to see. I didn't see why I should have to pay more, so haven't visited again. Maybe I will try again sometime.

I probably won't be renewing either. Find the new site very confusing now but I did find the index of their historical records an easier way to narrow the search to a specific record

Five days ago not only did I renew but I upgraded to their world subscription. Big mistake. A senior moment I think. I should have read the reviews first. I get totally lost when searching and very frustrated as it is soooooo slow.

I liked the old site it was easy to follow and searching was far clearer than it is now.

Ideally I should have waited until they had sorted out all the glitches, of which there are many, and then renewed and upgraded. :-(

TS, I renewed on March 11th, the preview was inaccessible at that point. I hadn't up until then been unduly phased by any website changes so subbed up so that I didn't lose my discount. I never expected the utter mess and user unfriendliness that I logged onto last week.

I'm disgusted by the ignorance and arrogance of these people.

I guess I just break the sub down into bite size per week portions to convince myself that £90 isn't a lot of money to lose.

Island like you I didn't want to lose my discount. I persevered for three days and then wrote to them. I haven't had a reply from them but I'm sure they must be very busy dealing with all the complaints. Thank goodness I have Ancestry. My upgrade was a birthday present from a friend so a bit of a waste of a prezzie really.

Jax, I eventually realised that you have to click on one of those options to get the image/transcription. :-\

No I have seen the transcription.....I want to see the image

The only thing to click on is 'View full page transcription' which will just take me back to where I came from

The excuse is bound to be the fact I use IE.....but will not change just because their software is not compatible......I'm sure I cant be the only one

Luck was on my side for once, I forgot to renew on 29th March.......so pleased I did :-D

I won't be renewing either, I've just unticked auto renew. It used to be so user friendly but now even after several attempts I find it a nightmare to use.
