I'm talking about the OP BC, how can anyone comment appropriately if they don't know what the thread is about? |

I disagree, Island. Sharron's story has often been told on here. |

There was a very interesting thread called 'Narcissistic Mothers' which covers, in great detail, how bad mothering can affect the child. |

I didn't see the Opening post either, so have only answered about my experience of having a wonderful mother, and of being a mother. |

I think you'd be angry if your mother had treated you like cr@p Mersey. |

I am not a Mum, I longed to be but unfortunately I can't have children, I dreamed of following in my Mums footsteps as to the way she brought my sisters and I up....I yearned to be called Mummy but it does not make me sad or angry I reflect and try to see the positive out of it all.....My Mum is more to me than I can say, and I literally cannot find the words I have for her......She stood by me through all the very best times and the really not so good times and she still does I am one of the lucky ones.... |

Ditto to Joy's post, I couldn't have wished for a more wonderful Mum, she died of the weekend of Mothers day, so every year is a reminder of my loss. |

There must be any number of people who have the same reason to be thankful as you. Why shouldn't you give an opinion different from the world seen through rose coloured glasses? |

There is too much hype over 'certain' days - as a child there never was a Father's Day. As when they began a Grandparents Day I laughed and agreed with my lot as it is in September and our birthdays are 8th and 16th of that month |
