Marilyn’s husband wants to thank everyone for the responses on this thread; he said Marilyn would have been overwhelmed by the messages.

The funeral for Marilyn will be held next Friday morning (4th April) at St Margaret Mary's RC Church, Plymouth.

The family have stressed immediate family flowers only please and if anyone wanted to make a donation in Marilyn’s name (payable to Macmillan Cancer Support) it could be sent to Walter C. Parson Funeral Directors, St. Mary's View, 2 Market Road, Plympton, Plymouth PL7 1QW.

I am so very sad to read this, I too assumed Marilyn was away on hols or busy with family, I had no idea she was so poorly.

Marilyn has family in Norfolk so we met up when she came to visit and because she knew it was a difficult time for me when we met, she gave me a lovely flower arrangement to cheer me up. We had a wonderful time chatting away over coffee.

I know her family here will miss her greatly and I send my deepest sympathy to her husband and all her family and friends who will miss her so much. She was a lovely warm lady who cared so much for others.

Rest in peace, Marilyn, you leave a legacy of love and I know you will continue to look out for your family until you are together again.
