Yes, in those days people used to drink spirits with a large dollop of a sweet cordial - Awful! :-P :-P

Remember the Berni Inns with the sherry in glasses and schooners.

People thought the sherry was brought in in the barrels but it was in huge plastic containers and poured in. Dry, medium and sweet :-D :-D

OOh yes Gin and Orange, Gin and lime came after Cherry B, and snowballs were soon on the menu too. I am talking here 1957/58 to 1960

I have never tried scrumpy having been warned off it by my OH whose Great Uncle owned a cider orchard in Somerset when OH was a lad. :-D It is not for the weak.

My pals and me used to drink cider with green ginger wine when we went out on the lash - often heavy on the ginger wine - oh! I can still feel those hangovers! :-P :-P ;-) :-D :-D
