There have been a few canine threads over the past few days and I am reminded of Brian the dog.

For those not in the know, Brian is a fictitious dog but central character in the cleverly and satirically written Family Guy cartoon series. He aspires to be a writer but towards the end of last year he was killed off, leading to worldwide outrage and even petitions. (That's a bit sad.)

However, he was brought back through the powers of television and script writing (if only we could do that in the real world).

My point?

Well, in the words of Seth MacFarlane who provided the voice for the fictitious pooch...

"Never take those you love for granted, for they can be gone in a flash."
