IRISH COACH JOE SCHMIDT has warned his side about the danger of giving away easy penalties to WALES' SHARP KICKER LEIGH HALFPENNY in this afternoon's match! :-D

ARE THEY SCARED? :-D :-D :-D

Maybe... but we won't underestimate them... they are a very strong team! :-D

Hi John

Yes I'm excited too! :-) :-)
They are going to have to play in the heart of this dreadful storm coming in from the Atlantic though! Hope it doesn't affect our Leigh's kicking adversely!

It would have been interesting to see the Women's Matches, to see exactly what went wrong. Without seeing it it's hard to get the full perspective I suppose!

Yes, there is a great deal of talent coming up through the ranks. It's great to be able to watch the development of our Wales stars of the future.

Do you happen to know what has happened to the very promising Fly Half Sam Davies- son of Nigel Davies, who was IRB Junior Player of the Year 2013? I shall have to try to find out! Perhaps he is injured.

I HAVE JUST FOUND OUT.... HE IS NOW 21! :-D :-D

Am excited, Jem :-D :-D

Think Scotland match will be close too :-D

What is the matter with our Women's Team? Couldn't a couple of the U20's put some make-up on and pretend? So impressed withg U20 last night. Captain (Steffan Huws?) was very impressive, and I also like Afan ? (the bearded one) very much indeed. Plenty for the future amongst those lads :-D :-D

:-) :-) 50th CAP FOR LEIGH HALFPENNY:

When Leigh Halfpenny runs out for Wales (against Ireland) in Dublin this afternoon, he will become the youngest Welshman to receive his 50th Cap at the age of 25 years and 48 days. Leigh made his debut in November 2008 and has acquired his caps in just over five years.

TALKING TO”WalesOnline”:

“It is a huge honour for me and all my family and friends,” said the Blues star, “To pull that Welsh jersey on for the first time was a special moment for me and to do it for the 50th time is just as exciting.

“For me, growing up as a rugby player my dream was always to play for Wales, I wanted it so much. I just kept going, kept believing, and kept training hard.

“It will be a massive honour to be the youngest. It’s a huge privilege to be in the position I am, without the help of my team-mates, coaches, friends and family I wouldn’t be in this position.

“I don’t think it gets any easier, it is important I keep looking at areas where I can improve my game and keep working hard"

LEIGH HALFPENNY TOOK OVER AS WALES’ FIRST CHOICE KICKER IN DUBLIN IN 2012

WALES' FLY HALF RHYS PRIESTLAND CREDITS HIMSELF FOR LEIGH'S PHENOMENAL SUCCESS:

Talking to “The Guardian” this week Rhys joked-
"I missed three kicks against Ireland two years ago and Leigh took over, I guess I am to thank for Leigh's success and perhaps he should give me a cut of his wages."

Leigh also landed the crucial penalty that took Wales to a 23-21 win against Ireland in that Six Nations Championship game.

PROFILE:

Name: Stephen LEIGH Halfpenny
