Hello Michael. I so admire the way you are tackling this..you are a lesson to us all and it will take a huge burden from your family when the time comes. The practical and humorous way you are conducting your life is very humbling and I do hope that while you are making sure that everyone else is taken care of, you give some thought and kindness to a special person...you! Keep on keeping us all in touch.

do please make sure that someone, possibly your son?, has a list of the sites you go on, the user name and the password for accessing the site.

That is particularly important on GR, as that means he will be able to access this thread, for example, as well as your tree.

You never know ....... he might want to take over your membership and keep the tree going for you :-)

hi liz thank you for your reply I will be ok I will sort them out as the elder of the family they will do as they are told or else.lol on the good side I have just had a message from my enstranged sister in America first contact in 20 yrs so another straggler back in the fold one more to go then the family is one again.i have a few things to do still I mean fun things the wifey and i.as I said earlier we are all going to have a family meal to start there will be about 20 of us thought I would treat them all in cace later I am not up to it. wife and son were talking last night I mad them laff but I will put it up later as I am still smileing at it now. Oh dear Michael, the last thing you need is other people bickering or whatever. Try not to let it stress you too much.

I am glad you have done your recording but keep the recorder handy as you may think of other things to add later on.

Hope you can sort out the headstone to your satisfaction, so that can be ticked off your list.

Remember to add some fun things to the to do list as well.

well to day has thrown me a bit with several piece of bad news but I will not go into that .while sitting up thinking if I had completed my to do list I saw that I had not thought about the stone I wanted at the crem so now I have that to think about wat a numnut I am lol still it will give me some thing to do for a few days till some thing else crops up. I have finnish my recording just got to make copy,s on a disc for every body in the family then it job done time to relax. and enjoy the remainder of my time. :-D :-D :-D

thank you for your lovley replys I am glad I have got the time to do this as my younger brother who died two years ago only had cancer for a short while did not have the time to sort things out I saw all the problems that arouse I do not want this for my wife and family. any way it my way of making sure that they do what I want. which they are I love them for it it,s also brought a few strays back in to the fold. :-D :-D :-D :-D

Glad you got the doctor under control Michael.

During my brother in laws last few months, he too arranged his funeral and had the odd party or three, we are left with some really happy memories of the time we spent together.

Glad to read you are getting things sorted. Now you can forget about 'arrangements' .

Your family dinner sounds a great idea. The video memories will be great for the family to have.

About three years ago, we had a family dinner for my daughters birthday. After dinner we came back home and carried on with an impromptu party. My OH got out the camcorder and filmed us all having fun. My Dad used to like a drink, loved to sing too. We had such fun and have the film to prove it. My Dad started a conga line going around my living room !!. If anyone had been looking in the window, they would have thought we were all nuts. :-D. When we look at the film now, we can laugh and enjoy seeing Dad in full swing. (and the rest of us I might add ;-)).

I look forward to hearing about your family night out..

Hello Michael,

Good for you sorting out your funeral arrangements.

My OH and myself did the same thing when we retired several
years ago also we also made our Wills out, OH was a bit wary
at first but saw the sense of it.
