Sorry folks, I was so tired yesterday I didn't come on here and forgot to add this latest news.

Jan told Sheila when they spoke that " Joyce was being obstroculous ? today, wanting to come home and moaning they are not doing anything for her so she might as well be at home, She is a lot better with her conversation not forgetting words like she was so that is better. They get her out of the wheelchair to walk to the bathroom but Jan says she can only walk about 10 yards without having to rest. She told him that she is not sleeping at night but he had a word with the nurse and she said she was sleeping well every night. "

I think the word Jan meant was obstreperous! The definition is : Noisily and stubbornly defiant - sounds about right lol


Sheila has told Jan she will phone every other day for news which we will pass on. Hopefully things will be even better by the weekend as I will probably be away for a few days and not able to get online.

Come on Joyce, use that stroppy energy to better avail and get those legs going again so you can walk further. It will make such a difference to you amd you will be able to get home sooner, altho it's probably good for you to be int he home for now so they can monitor your diet and fluid intake which does affect memory and such.

Thanks to Sheila for keeping us posted and more positive thoughts for Jan and Joyce.

Now Joyce, you have to be patient and do as you are told.

Jan wants you back home but he wants you to be as well and mobile as you can be.

Another day and hopefully Joyce is slowly improving and Jan isn't too weary with all the worry and stress. Ongoing thoughts and prayers for them both.

Jans words tonight :- it is remarkable news ,she is just about back to her old self and walking a bit better, she asked the doctor if she could go home for just 1 day and he said he will see by the weekend.


I (Sheila) told Jan he will have to tie her to the wheelchair to get her back,I can see her not going back once she gets home ......

Very good news that Joyce has recovered so well and hope she will do as she is advised and go back to the hospital after one day out, think the docs will have to go and fetch her lol

Be good Joyce and do what you are told!

Just to let you know that Joyce had today at home until around 4.30pm I didn't get a chance to chat with her but Sheila did and she said she sounded quieter than usual but talked just as much altho she muddled one or two words. Things seem to be going well tho so hopefully after more care in the nursing home she will be able to get home for good.


Well done Joyce, keep doing what the drs tell you and practising your speech, slowly tho lol, and the walking and hopefully you will be your old self soon!

I have been on holiday so only just catching up with the boards. I hope Dutch is continuing to improve. Wishing her well, stay strong Joyce.

It will have been so good for Joyce and Jan to relax in their own home together today. I do hope Joyce has been good and returned to the nursing home without problems.
