I don't know Dutch very well but I've always been impressed with her fighting spirit. I hope she starts to improve very soon and that she and Jan and her family are given the strength they need right now. Thinking of you all.

Thinking of Joyce and her family.
When I read on here that Joyce had managed to ask for a drink I thought that sounded very encouraging and it shows she knows what she wants. Dutch you are a fighter and I pray you get stronger with each day. Love to all of you. <3

Hi Liz, spoke to Jan earlier. They are giving Joyce medication to make her sleep because she is getting agitated (that's Joyce, she will be thinking of everything she has to say and do lol ) She woke for a little while when he was there and when he held her hand she squeezed it,but there was no change in her face that said she know who it was,it really upset Jan, I have told him that cards will be sent to him, and he will read them to her if she is awake while he is there,Will not be phoning Jan again till Tuesday evening but he has promised if there is any change he will phone me,

I think it's good that Joyce is being helped to rest and hopefully it will help her recover more altho it will be a long slow road.

Will keep you updated as and when I hear news.


Come on Joyce, keep on fighting - it'll soon be time to get those Christmas cards sent and I bet you had started on them already - I know you like to send them out early!

You do get yourself in some pickles. Jan needs you to be back on that scooter and riding over his toes.

Get your rest and get your health restored. I have sent thoughts over to your wishing well that Jan made to wish you lots of improvement.

Complete rest is a good aid to recovery.
Rest well Joyce. Let the medical team concentrate on what needs doing, while you get better.
It's encouraging that Joyce knew Jan was there, although I can imagine it was a difficult time for him.

Sallie, thanks yes we are ok now. o.h's thumb seems to have healed well but he has to see a consultant chosen by the insurance company chasing his claim against the car driver who knocked him off his bike. So long winded - he is getting very fed up with all the paperwork.

No news since Monday morning but no news is good news 'they' say so fingers crossed we will hear about more encouraging signs from Joyce.
