Oh dear, I am so sorry Brenda, I hope they will be able to find out what is wrong in the specialist unit

My granddaughter had a heart scan yesterday, lots of people came to look as having your heart on the wrong side and pointing the wrong way is so rare. Anyway, thankfully she has no major defects. She does have a murmur because she has a blood vessel between the Aorta and Pulmonary artery which shouldn't be there. All babies have one before they are born, but it closes off at birth, except hers is in a slightly different place. They didn't seem bothered about it and said they will just keep an eye on it.

The geneticists came along and ruled out another suspected syndrome as she didn't have the heart defect that usually goes with that one. In the meantime she is just-on three hourly feeds all through the tube, she is nine weeks old now, so it is very tiring for her parents

Katie has eventually been moved to the big city hospital and parents and little brother are housed in one of the suites there.
Apparently her other lung collapsed this morning.I do hope and pray they can help to find out what is wrong .
A top specialist will see her tomorrow.so we need all the thoughts and prayers we can get.
Thanks for listening....and hope Linda's granddaughter is improving as well.

I hope both little ones will get stronger each day and their problems will be sorted out soon. It's so hard when you can't take your baby home to be with the family, and have to watch them go through so much treatment and pulling about.

my Katie now 23 was always a fighter,shes still the same,your day will come darling,once a fighter,always a fighter.x <3

She is going for an echo heart scan tomorrow as her heart is on the wrong side and a mirror image of what it should be. Her feeding is no different, she still has to be fed totally through the tube. She now has high calorie milk formula which is only on prescription to mix with her mums expressed milk,as they want her to put more weight on.
Her tube came out today so they had to go to the hospital to get a new one put in. while it was out, they tried bottle feeding, but she just screamed. She has such bad acid reflux that she equates feeding with pain

I hope that the specialist children's hospital will be able to help Katie

Latest tonight is that Katie is being transferred once again.this time to the big city brand new children's hospital as she needs lots more tests to see why she's not responding to the treatment.

She can't cope without the ventilator and last night she had a sort of fit.
She is taking milk and seems strong enough to keep trying to pull out her tubes.
She is now 17 days old and not classed as a newborn.

We can't stop thinking of her and willing her to improve.
Hope to hear that Linda's granddaughter is getting better.

Wondering how little Katie is doing.
Also Lindas granddaughter.
