Well,thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers.
My daughter(grandma) went to see her this afternoon and she said that Katie had lost a bit of weight.
Operation is scheduled for 9.am unless there is an emergency.
As far as I know they are removing the top segment of her right lung as think that part isn't working,and daughter has been told its like play dough .
Said the operation could take up to 6 hrs,but suppose it will depend on what is found.

So we still need a lot of prayer and positive thoughts for her.

Also thinking of little Esme and family.
Will keep updated.

Praying hard that Katie's operation will be straightforward and this will put her on the road to recovery. BIG HUGS to all her family on such a traumatic day. Positive vibes headed your way and healing prayers for your precious baby.

Remembering baby Esme and all her family too and praying she will improving daily.

Well...Katie is back in ICU after operation.
She is on morphine,muscle relaxants,etc,but as far as I know they didnt find anything else wrong with her,but took the top segment of lung.
It may be days before we know any more.
She was in theatre for 4 hrs and not the 6 they were prepared for....so here's hoping she will be OK.
Think we have all been unsettled today while waiting,but at least that op is over.
She couldn't have had more thoughts and prayers,Ive had friends all over the world sending prayers.
Thanks everyone for your concern and help.

PS it would have been my mothers 101st birthday today...will never forget the date!

Thank goodness the op went well. Hoping for more positive updates from now on.

Brenda, what a hard emotional day for you all, you must be exhausted.

I'm so glad that Katie's operation went as planned and that baby is now in ICU where this little fighter will get the very best of care. You will all be hugely relieved.

I am so glad that she has come through it, hopefully her lungs will start to work property now and all of this can be put behind her.

Brenda, so pleased Katie has come through her surgery, what a huge relief for you all. She is one strong little girl. Good to hear the operation did not last as long as expected.
