Well you learn something new everyday :-D :-D ;-)

GinN Report 23 Aug 2013 21:41

Nutty slack is a type of small coal - at least I think so, unless it has other connotations (knowing GP!)

Errol, capers are little pickled flower buds - capons are cocks with their bits removed! :-D ;-)

GinN Report 23 Aug 2013 21:23

Errol, you are a sheep after my own heart! :-D

It sounds perfect, but could we just have a teeny Pastis as an aperitif? ;-)

A fine fois gras complemented with a rather decent Chablis followed by smoked salmon in a vodka and cream sauce with capons. Next a venison shank with new potatoes and caremelised parsnips with a hint and a drizzle of pureed carrot sauce swilled down with a rather good yet unknown Sicilian red. To follow, a light sorbet and fine cheese with thin and finely baked savoury biscuits to finish, accompanied by a rather nice Cognac or Armagnac after the excellent vintage Port.

oh and After 8 mints of course lol
