GinN - You can ask any question you like and I will answer it. Gateshead and Newcastle have changed dramatically over the years. At my age now I would'nt want to live anywhere else and I don't think you would like to move back.

Sorry, I wasn't meaning to be nosey, just that I was born there! :-D

I miss the place, though I'm not sure I'd want to live up North again. Really feel the pull when I'm up there, though. Last time I was up there was last June, and spent a lot of time looking around.
How things have changed, but a lot of the old places are still there, at least in Newcastle. I hope Gateshead will be further improved, as Saltwell Park has. There's not much left of how I remember it. :-)

GP, so was I - lived in Bensham - St. Cuthbert's Road, then Lobley Hill, then Wardley until 1958. After that, it was Peterlee (awful!), Hartlepool, then Stockton on Tees (very awful!) then moved to Norfolk in 1984.

Were you born in Queen Elizabeth Hospital? :-)

Thanks, the wine sounds perfect, and I'd love a glass, but no more to eat tonight.

GinN - Its an Australian wine and i think you will like it. Its quite fruity with citrius fruits and its only supplied by Asda. Would you like something to eat or is to late for a little nibble.
