Auntie Barb have you tried cancelling the print jobs or purging the print queue?

Look for the printer icon in the bottom right hand corner of your screen and double click on it.
The print queue will open and you can cancel, purge etc from there.
Highlight a print job and use the menus or right click on a print job.
Once cleared, turn off your printer then restart it and try again.
