OH will be very annoyed if he can't play golf on Sunday! It's an annual event, held over a few months at lots of clubs. He played golf today! He was fine when he got home, but a few hours later was really sick.

As you can probably tell, I can't sleep. The bed seems so big & empty.

I won't sleep well, so I'm better off not even trying. I've made a pot of coffee, will read for a while, then maybe in a couple of hours I'll have a "wake-up" shower & wash my hair...... then get the trowel out to put on makeup so that OH won't know I've had no sleep.

Our neighbour saw the ambulance, came over and gave me a cuddle :-D ~ that's the neighbour with the dogs who think they also live at our place.... the dogs were all looking out the window & howling.

I hate this.

OH 'phoned me from the hospital!

He sounded a bit croaky, but lots better than he did a few hours ago.

He is having a CT scan tomorrow (he had one last week). He'll definitely be in the hospital until at least Friday.

So looking forward to seeing him tomorrow <3

Would you believe the local hospital didn't even tell him I 'phoned!!!!? They told him that his sister phoned (probably because she can be very persistent!).

I've got a list of things to take for him........ wallet, mobile 'phone, specs (I knew I forgot something!).

Back to bed for me........ it's nearly midnight, and the alarm is set for 7.00am

Thankyou all for your concern, much appreciated.

Scozz How dreadful for you I do hope you get information soon to settle you it must be awful to be left hanging and not knowing what is going on . I would go to the hospital without letting on after all if you are there they can hardly not let you see your husband and I'm sure it would do OH some good to see you too.

Knowing the way things are these days, the hospital are probably reluctant to tell you too much in case what they say turns out to be wrong & you sue them.
Same with the ambulance. You were not the patient, so if anything happened to you while you were with them, they would be liable.
Sad world isnĀ“t it.

I let a couple of OH's golf friends know.

I've had 'phone calls from lots of people, the word travelled fast!

Such nice people. One lady is picking me up in the morning to take me to the hospital (she said she's going that way, because she's going shopping).

I'll have to phone the hospital first thing, to see if I can visit.

I'm off to bed, try to get some sleep. I probably won't.... I'll read..... then worry half the night. nearly 10.30pm, way past my bedtime.

Sorry to hear this Scozz. I'm glad SIL has been able to get at least a little bit of information for you - there's nothing worse than not knowing. Hopefully the bigger hospital will be able to sort him out and put your mind at rest. Thinking of you and your OH

Sis-in-law just 'phoned.

She's a senior nurse so she knows how to talk to hospital staff!

She told them she wasn't impressed with them, not giving me any information, she laid it on really thick!! It really is bad, when they won't tell a spouse anything, we can't help but let our imagination run riot.

She spoke with a nurse, who said she couldn't tell her much, so sis asked to speak to a doctor........... and explained that she lives in another state, and I was extremely upset because nobody would tell me anything.

OH will be transferred tonight to a hospital about an hour north of us. They will be able to give him better care & monitor him, as our local hospital is very small and doesn't have much in the way of high-tech equipment.

It looks like he will be kept in the hospital for a couple of days at least, because that's where's he's booked in for a test on Friday.

Poor man, he's usually a big strong boy, rarely gets sick, this has floored him physically and mentally.

I'll be phoning the hospital tomorrow, first to talk to OH & then I will put on my nurse-in-charge voice (imitation of sis-in-law) and demand to speak to a doctor!
