I've got the rope to tie him up..... so that he won't go out...... WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? lol

I've hidden the car keys.

I've hidden his golf clubs & shoes

I've borrowed a nurse's uniform........ but I'll wait until he's a lot better before I wear it, because he runs out of puff too quickly right now.

LadyScozz - pleased to read this morning that your hubby is feeling better and that he may get home soon, it must be a great relief to you to be told the biopsy tests were all ok, you take care and - hide his golf clubs <3

LadyScozz Report 5 Aug 2013 05:47

YAY!! He's getting better :-D <3 <3

I 'phoned him early this morning, he said the specialist would be in some time this morning or after lunch, so I waited .......and 'phoned him again.

Doc says things have improved. The biopsies were all good. There's still fluid on a lung & inflammation, and he's on loads of medication..... but if things keep improving and IF he behaves himself, he may be released on Wednesday or Thursday. He'll probably have a load of medication to bring home.

Such a relief!

I know he's feeling better, because he said he forgot to ask the doc when he could get back to playing golf <3

Thankyou to all of your for your care and support. You've been an enormous help. <3

Hello Scozz. I hope OH is improving and he will soon be back home with you. I agree some people are wonderful and seem to just appear when times are tough, I am sure that you would be the same too. Take care, I hope you manage to get some "Me Time", you deserve it.

Scozz, he is in the best place of course but can understand how much you miss him and want him home. Sending lots of good thoughts to him that he will soon be well and to yourself that you stay strong to cope with the worry.

When my OH was about 25 he had a small blister burst on his lung which collapsed it. I wouldn't wish that pain on anyone. He was in hospital for 2 weeks with that. Not had a problem since thank goodness. His biggest moan when in there? He was not allowed to smoke. (He was in the R Navy and it was a RN hospital and that was an order.) So I can guess how painful it is for your OH. Best wishes to him.

pleurisy is so painful, it hurts to cough - had it many years ago and hope I never get it again

I'm sure with modern antibiotics he'll soon be on the mend and hope with you again - take care yourself - hospital visiting can be very wearing and you need to stay fit and well for when he's back with you <3 <3 <3

He's not good at all.

He wanted to get out of the room, so we went to the coffee shop. A short walk, and he was running out of breath. I made him slow down, and not talk until we got there. Sat in the sunshine for an hour, I think that cheered him up a bit. A slow walk back to the room.

He made me laugh, describing the "other" specialist, said he looked like Mr Bean, but with a pot belly. That made HIM start laughing, & that brought on a coughing fit.

It looks like he will be having an operation, to remove a teeny bit of lung. I don't know all the details.... will have to ask sis-in-law (nurse) if she knows anything.

I know he's in the best place. He's staying there for as long as it takes to get him well; no way is he going back to the local hospital, I wouldn't take a cat there!

This house is too quiet.

LadyScozz you must be disappointed that hubby is not getting home but he is in the best place and hopefully they will get things sorted out, so while the doctors are looking after hubby you make sure that you look after yourself, as to that selfish neighbour don't concern yourself about her, she is not worth it <3

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 4 Aug 2013 06:28

Scozz ............

your OH is in the best place for him at the moment.

It's far better for him to stay there while they get all the tests done and the results in, than come home, and possibly have to go to the local hospital.

Meanwhile, you take care of yourself, pay no attention to that ignorant woman, but bless all the friends who are helping you.

Liz

I just had to google "san fairy ann"

It comes from WW1 ............... the British Tommy's mangling of the Franch language.

In this case, it apparently comes from ça ne fait rien, “it does not matter”, which became a British Army catchphrase in that war as an expression of resigned — or cynical — acceptance of some state of affairs.

It wasn't much used after the War was over .............. perhaps your Mum heard her father saying it???

Horrible woman, how unfeeling she is.

Hope all the tests are soon over and the problem solved, meanwhile hard as it is for your o.h. to be in hospital and not at home, he's in the best place in case he feels a poorly again or his coughing gets worse.

Take care of yourself and as my mother used to say, san fairy ann to that miserable scrounging neighbour of yours. Please don't ask what it means, I never did know!

LadyScozz Report 4 Aug 2013 00:26

It doesn't look like Himself is coming home today :-(

The specialist's partner did the rounds yesterday. I don't understand all the medical jargon, but it's something about the camera they used didn't go far enough. They took biopsies, but they won't be tested until tomorrow. Whatever it is that's causing the problem is still there.

I 'phoned him about an hour ago, and he's still coughing like crazy.

Friends taking me to the hospital this morning.

there are people like that all over the world!

But thankfully, the good ones outnumber them

I'm glad to hear that himself is improving. Hope the docs sort it all out, and he gets home soon.
