I cannot believe that the Australian health system put you through such anguish Scozz... what about your mental health for goodness sake. And as for not allowing you in the ambulance that beggars belief.

I am always impressed with the Australian hospital programmes I see here on the hospitals in Sydney and Melbourne.

Yes Mr M.. there is often a funny side but sheer hell at the time. ...even here in little ole NZ we is allowed to travel with patient if we want and system is such that they keep you informed. You are allowed to read your patient notes etc as well.

I wish him and you all the best Catherine... Take care Persie.

Saw him this morning <3 I think he was dancing with the morphine pixies

He still has some pain, but nothing like he had last night.

He had an MRI (not a CT) this morning, it didn't show up anything else unusual, but the specialist thinks there are two foreign bodies, one in a bronchial tube & the other in a lung. We think it's the chicken bone/gristle. The bronchoscopy is tomorrow afternoon. The specialist came to see OH when I was there, and explained everything to both of us.

All the staff at this hospital have been wonderful, such a difference to our local place (I'm not calling it a hospital any more, it's a sad & sorry place). Small examples.... they had to shave some of OH's chest and the razor was blunt! OH asked for some water just before he got in the 2nd ambulance...... the "nurse" (I use the term loosely) said he would get a drink at the next hospital, because she couldn't be bothered going back to the kitchen!!! What a b!tch!!!!!!!!!!

The specialist wants him to stay in hospital until at least Sunday. I really miss him, it's horrible rattling around in this big house by myself, but he's in the best place, and is now forced to rest, instead of running around like he usually does.

I've been overwhelmed by our friends here, everyone is offering to take me up to the hospital, at whatever time I want.

Again, thankyou all for your kind words <3

That is good, betcha you are heaving a sigh of relief.. does crappy hospital have a patient survey form or a suggestion form that you can complete.

Of course you could complain to your MP and in the papers.. people love a rant and rave here.

Glad everything sorted... :-) :-) :-) Perse

Hi Scozz, oh poor you, and poor hubby, what a dreadful time you have had, as if you haven't already been through enough!

I am so glad you have people rallying round you and someone to give you a hug, here are several from me (((( )))) Try and stay busy and positive and get as much rest as you can, I know it's hard but find a book to read and lose yourself into while you drift off to sleep if possible.

Will be thinking lots of positive thoughts for you both and hope your hubby will be home as soon as possible and feeling lots better. Shame about the golf but his health is more important.

love and hugs

I'm feeling a bit fuzzy in the head, because I got about 1 hour sleep last night!

I last looked at the clock at 5.48am...... and the alarm went off at 7.00am :-(

OH was lying in the hospital bed, morphine up to the eyeballs, he took one look at me and KNEW I hadn't had much sleep! My eyes change colour... when I'm tired or not well, they go bright green. He looked at me and said "you didn't sleep last night"!!

I might wander off to bed in a couple of hours with a book & a cup of something (better not make it coffee :-0.... I'm considering port :-D ). I can't go to sleep, because I'm expecting a few 'phone calls.

If I have port my eyes won't be green tomorrow :-D

We can hardly wait for the end of August. Our run of rotten luck started in September last year.... surely it's time to stop?

:-)

Hope so Scozz, and don't touch coffee, you will never sleep, and you will be all jittery, unless you have decaff. Do you have any porridge oats, they help keep you calm and you can buy oat milk as well which is nice and calming.

Take care and hope things get better day by day

I talked to Himself last night, he sounded a bit more chipper.

Talked to him this morning, he sounded tired.... he'd been awake most of the night, coughing. He's bored & fed up, but knows he's in the right place.

He was given a slice of toast & a cuppa at 6 this morning, the cut-off point for food, as he'll be getting an anasthetic at about 2pm. All he can think about is what they're giving him for dinner afterwards!

Friends 'phoned last night, want to take me out tonight. I thanked them, but I'd rather stay home. I want to 'phone Himself, probably at 6pm, give him time to get settled, and I wouldn't be much fun out with anybody. I know they mean well, but..... :-)

Last night........ didn't need a glass of port... I was asleep by 10pm and slept until 7.15 this morning.
