CupCakes ............

if you cannot see the relevance of my post re not wearing shoes indoors in Canada ..............

then I cannot help you!

I thought it was perfectly relevant .................. with regard to your comment that taking off outdoor shoes meant that carpets did not get dirty.

Whereas, carpets get just as dirty, and need cleaning at least as often as when shoes are worn!

yes rose i remember, but i also remember those who did still talk to the person were still friends,

as always ill talk to who ever is ok with me, once they cross that line with me then its up to me to stand up n say somthing or ignore that person,

but lately it seems you cant post on certain peoples threads, without some people coming on n digging, or what ever you would call it, and then feeling like your stuck in the cross fire, of somthing that is nothing to do with me

:-(

What a palavor over a board name, we all know who was who before the name change why make a song and dance or secret about it, I ave had a few board names myself on here one was Wilde Childe now if anyone called me that I would be like Ohhh we must go back a few years, as for persons not exsisting Hayley Empress of Drama doesnt exsist its not my real name however I ve had some mail address to me that way. :-D Some people really need to get over themselves! we had an agreement between ourselves on here some years ago with regards boardnames and changes because of wums constantly changing their names and that was to annouce it .

Sylvia you can visit our house anytime, I just need to get a few of my family house trained now ;-)

CupCakes

CupCakes Report 16 Jul 2013 22:06

Think wooden spoons at dawn come to mind stirring poison.
What is in a name - it is my business and nobody else's - CupCakes it is - nothing strange about it and the one I answer to - don't have to explain myself to anybody.

Don't even see the point of some of the WUM off topic comments.

Checking membership numbers - pointless even if it is possible.

Over in Canada they do things different and can be deemed cultural - so how does that add to the topic. What's that all about anyway.

Does it really matter how old anybody is - it's not a competition. I don't care if I'm an oldie with age problems - I not a sympathy seeker - hate gush.

So my family don't follow British traditions - it's multi racial & multi cultural so what.

Said my piece - Now can we please get back to the topic which is just fun.

I've just opened Bid up Tv and thinking how much it would cost to take my king size feather duvet to the cleaners.

;-) <3 ;-)

Kay .................

I agree ...................

but continual denial of the existence of the other name is contentious

and continual RR'ing of people who dare to mention it is really contentious

and I maintain ........... is against FREE SPEECH

It's not as if it is even important .................... except someone is being very petty!

all she needs to say is "yes, I was NanaSue, but I prefer my new name"

but she denies that NanaSue ever existed, or that Sue is part of her name.

Kay????

Kay???? Report 16 Jul 2013 22:01

Sylvia lots of past threads remain in a previous used board name,, ;-) :-D......for some reason they dont all change......odd but true,,,

Rambling

Rambling Report 16 Jul 2013 22:00

I think that whether one calls oneself X or Y is irrelevant...but what you call other people IS relevant.... NanaSue/Cupcakes calls members "sados" ( sic) so that kinda says it all for me.

Those of you who have been here years must surely acknowledge that people have been driven off the boards by the constant name changers ( shall I remind you of their names ?! ) who used different names ( and or multiple accounts) to cover their previous identities and their previous nastiness......and yes it does still annoy me that GR did nothing about it...be it the comments directed against my son, or those who really did nothing to deserve it. It annoys me that I have a long memory for things like that...but I do, so there it is.

report away ...don't give a stuff anymore.

Kay????

Kay???? Report 16 Jul 2013 21:57

The previous board name doesnt exsist,,,,,,,unless it gets changed back,,,,,,so if its cupcake or CC then thats what it is.
who cares,,,,,,,,but to keep picking on it is nit picking for no good reason than be petty when its known who they were/are.

and if Nannasue/NS is used then Cupcake just needs to take no notice and stop rr'ing........,,,,

Mersey

I'm waiting!! :-D

Kay??? .....................

--------

So someone changes their board name,,,,,,,its not in the T&C that one cant,

We all know the previous board name anyway so whats the problem......
---------

You're quite correct ..........

...... but not everyone who changes their name then RR's everyone who dares to mention to "old" name!

even though there are threads still around on which both names are showing.

That's stifling "free speech" .................... and, of course, makes some of us more determined NOT to be silenced

As far as I know, both you and I live in democracies, where we can say anything that is not racist, homophobic, sexist.

Offensive or Personally Offensive is a possible reason .............. but what is offensive about using an old name??

Nolls posted ....................

Sylvia that's really interesting that you never wear outdoor shoes inside though think most people here will kick them off when inside I try if I go to someone's house to remove shoes if it's raining or muddy but must admit don't do so if it's nice outside

--------

Nolls ............... children are taught from a very young age that one changes shoes when entering or leaving a house .................. even those who are not yet walking may have a pair of "shoes" put on before being put in the pram or stroller, and they see their parents, babysitter, siblings, etc. all changing shoes.

so it becomes second nature to do it.

The city where I live tends to be the least concerned ................... the weather conditions are better than elsewhere.

Newcomers are usually quickly "educated" in the habit.

My daughter lives in another part of Canada, and everyone changes shoes there. They lived in an apartment for about 4 years, on the 3 rd floor. The hallways were carpeted ............... but they, like everyone else, still had a heavy plastic tray outside their door where people left their shoes.

There would not be too much dirt on them, even in winter, after wiping your feet on the outside door mat at the apartment's main door, then the inside doormat, and finally walking about 100' along the carpeted hallway ................. but no matter, that was what everyone did and does.
