Hi BC..... it was brilliant seeing the old street,

Hi Lolly.... only that No 45 was the Dealtry family when I was there, no 50 I think was the Rennison family in my day.

If we ever ran short of milk my mam would send me over to ask Mrs Rennison if she had a spare pint of milk we could buy & she always did have, LOL.

Think I might watch it all again just to see the street, LOL.
Oh yes & I could also pause the film clip of the Rowntree workers leaving the factory, my mam & step father worked there, they just might be amongst them lol.

Joan.

It's Una's style and I think she looks great :-D and just loved the Dairy box advert....and the chocs at the time mmm

Roger certs. are easy to obtain if you're in the offices (area) where family actually lived.
edit: From my experience anyway.

Janet

Janet Report 24 Jul 2013 22:32

Haha well she obviously annoyed me a lot more than you guys............ although I still have to watch !

I do remember her in Till Death us do Part and in Summer Holiday with Cliff and as Aunt Sally and in Give us a Clue (Showing my age now)

Joan that must have given you quite a turn when you saw Rose St on the cert.

Did you have any idea of the history of the original household at 45 & 50?

ButtercupFields

ButtercupFields Report 24 Jul 2013 22:29

My Grandma always wore one and she looked quite racy :-D

Rambling Report 24 Jul 2013 22:28

I don't think it's especially a 'Frank Spencer' thing? lots of ladies wore them long before he did, and they became very popular again in the early 80s(?) . I know they didn't suit me, but my mum looked rather a blast in hers :-)

Ok but I hope it gets better.

But I wish it was as simple to go into the records offices and get the certificates like they do.

But Janet that has always been Una's way of speech, even when playing in " Till death Us Do Part" she's not a young lass anymore but hasn't changed :-D

Enjoyed the programme very much,Una was lovely to watch & listen to.

I was transported back 61 years tonight watching the programme,I grew up in ROSE St, I lived at no 49, my best friend Maggie lived at no 47, gosh how the memories of living there & my childhood came flooding back.

I'm so glad they started the series with Una Stubbs a) because I like her and b) because it was so interesting :-)

She was completely natural and fascinated by the family history as it was revealed to her

for the sake of all those who have taped it for later I won't go into detail but well worth watching on catchup if you haven't recorded it
