We used to get Plain Bread here (North East England) but for some reason the Supermarket (Morrisons)stopped importing it. Now family from Edinburgh bring it down for me together with well fired rolls, haggis neeps and tatties and Tunnocks plain caramel wafers and Tunnocks caramel logs. |

Well my best pal is from Inverness and sings Ma Heeland Granny's Hame or summat but only when she has several Vodka shots and a bottle of red. I also knew a man called Jock Dixon and a butcher from Glasgow called John Cameron married my aunty. So...there!! Can I join please. I can sing like a birrrrrrd! :-D :-D :-D |

Some of my favourites are, Haggis; Home made Scotch Broth; Lorne Sausage; Potted Meat; Ayrshire Bacon; Scotch Pies; Steak Bridies; Mature Scottish Red Cheddar; Clootie Dumpling; Short Bread; Dundee Cake; Smokies; Scottish Morning Rolls; Plain Bread; and of course a decent malt whisky- I wonder if any of these contributed to my health today :-( |

I loved tablet - my mum used to make it, if memory serves me right she used condensed milk, I used to watch her and scoff the bits from the saucer she used to test it on to see if it was ready and I can also remember my brother and I fighting over who got to lick the bowl when she made a clootie dumpling - delicious fried ;-) |

Ah Yes that's what they're called Aberdeen Rowies not always greasy But delicious heated and loads of real butter . No wonder Scots have very high heart problems .... but we like em.
