I still prefer a good Scotch Pie - every now and then I have been known to go a bit daft and order a dozen from Murdoch Brothers the butchers in Forres plus some Ayrshire bacon and a couple of haggis and they deliver it all in an insulated box ;-)

In the Northeast (of England) Greggs call oven bottoms "stotties" and in Scotland Greggs call them "Scotties"

Barbra, if I don't stop now, I will miss my friend Gym.

Potty, I really do fancy one of your Venison Pies.

Barbra

Barbra, don't know which part of D&G you are in, but if you are ever travelling west along the A75, call in to the Galloway Smokehouse at Carsluith and try one of their venison pies - absolutely delicious.

The thing I miss most up here is oven bottom muffins - now they made a sandwich to keep you going all day. (For the non-Lancastrians, they are a large, flat bread roll - not the ones with holes in that you eat toasted dripping in butter).

Edit: you could then call in at Cream of Galloway for some of their ice cream.

Sorry, Robert - hope this doesn't make you fatter!

Now Robert...Take a deep breath and calm down or your Blood Pressure will be too high...just a thought I read somewhere that dark chocolate is good for your weight it helps you lose it so if T cakes and Snowballs are covered in the dark (no I don't mean during the night .. don't be silly) then they must be good for slimming ... no probs. :-D
It's true I did read it ..or something like it :-S

Tunnock's Caramel Wafers, Teacakes, Caramel Logs, and Snowballs, were all favourites of mine since I was a child. My local Tesco's and Sainsbury's here in Kent stock them, because of my diabetes I should really avoid the aisle they are in and I put my hands up to giving into temptation now and then and popping a packet of Caramel Logs into my basket :-(

GlasgowLass - just catching up as for some unknown reason I had no internet access all day yesterday :-(

As far as I got to Erraid was the beach at Knockvologan but I did not cross over as I was unsure about the time the tide was due to come in, having had previous problems with tides on Iona and parts of Mull I decided not to risk it, and although several time a week I went from Iona to the Iona Community's base at the old fishing village at Camas on Mull I never found the time to try and visit Erraid.

Bank holiday Monday in Glasgow... we went Edinburgh Zoo.

The pandas are lovely, but I still prefer the big cats and chimps

All in all a good day, although it was a bit chilly over there!

EDIT:
Robert, Glad you liked the Tea Cake ... now for the Tunnocks Snowball.
No biscuit base, just the creamy filling wrapped in chocolate with coconut !

Each Christmas my girls buy me a catering size box of Tea Cakes and one of Snowballs ( 36 per box)

GG Emma,

OK you were right and I have had a second one!! I love plain chocolate so now on the lookout for Tunnocks Plain Chocolate Teacakes. I'll never lose weight.

Nolls,

If you have a Morrisons near you, try there.

I laughed for a few minutes (especially at Billy! <3)........

Now I'm wondering....... Where do I get the patterns????

I'd love to make a few of them (even with arthritis in my hands!).

A new great-nephew was born this morning, I don't think his Aussie parents would appreciate a Billy doll :-D
