Nolls, my Wife tells me the Maw Broons Cookbook is very good. She says it matches her other cookbooks which are all splattered with cooking stains and Maw Broons has been made to look well used. |

I never knew that GlasgowLass always asked for a loaf ...Or ...square pan or a plain loaf... do you still ask for square pans?? I came down to Eng and was living out in the sticks about 10 houses and the bakers van came every morning.. First morning I asked for a sq pan he looked at me and said "don't sell pots and pans" .. stupid man it was a bakers van for goodness sake :-S |

You should be able to buy mace in most major supermarkets, apart from being used in making lorne sausage, it is used in the fillings for Scotch Pies and gives a nice tang to omelletes and recipes using a - white, cheese, or parley sauce ;-) |

Nolls from Harrogate I have tried several scotch pies since I moved down here and settled on Murdoch's as being nearest to what I used to buy in Scotland, I will be ordering some more at the end of this month. |
