The first time I visited Iona was almost 30yrs ago.... the weather was horrendous and after dropping us off, the little ferry was cancelled for most of the day.

Everthing on Iona was closed and OH and I sat outside the (shut) shop in the pouring rain for hours waiting for the Ferry to come back and save us!
We could just about see our car parked over in Fionnphort.... containing our packed lunch and flask of coffee :-(

OFITG... just wondering?
Did you ever go to Erraid?

Just had a Tunnocks Milk chocolate tea cake and yes, I must admit it was very very tasty.

In fact I enjoyed it so much I am going to have another one!!! So much for trying to lose weight.

Glasgow Lass ~

I clicked on your link, and was redirect to:

I laughed for a few minutes (especially at Billy! <3)........

Now I'm wondering....... Where do I get the patterns????

I'd love to make a few of them (even with arthritis in my hands!).

A new great-nephew was born this morning, I don't think his Aussie parents would appreciate a Billy doll :-D

GG Emma,

OK you were right and I have had a second one!! I love plain chocolate so now on the lookout for Tunnocks Plain Chocolate Teacakes. I'll never lose weight.

Nolls,

If you have a Morrisons near you, try there.

Bank holiday Monday in Glasgow... we went Edinburgh Zoo.

The pandas are lovely, but I still prefer the big cats and chimps

All in all a good day, although it was a bit chilly over there!

EDIT:
Robert, Glad you liked the Tea Cake ... now for the Tunnocks Snowball.
No biscuit base, just the creamy filling wrapped in chocolate with coconut !

Each Christmas my girls buy me a catering size box of Tea Cakes and one of Snowballs ( 36 per box)

GlasgowLass - just catching up as for some unknown reason I had no internet access all day yesterday :-(

As far as I got to Erraid was the beach at Knockvologan but I did not cross over as I was unsure about the time the tide was due to come in, having had previous problems with tides on Iona and parts of Mull I decided not to risk it, and although several time a week I went from Iona to the Iona Community's base at the old fishing village at Camas on Mull I never found the time to try and visit Erraid.

Tunnock's Caramel Wafers, Teacakes, Caramel Logs, and Snowballs, were all favourites of mine since I was a child. My local Tesco's and Sainsbury's here in Kent stock them, because of my diabetes I should really avoid the aisle they are in and I put my hands up to giving into temptation now and then and popping a packet of Caramel Logs into my basket :-(

Now Robert...Take a deep breath and calm down or your Blood Pressure will be too high...just a thought I read somewhere that dark chocolate is good for your weight it helps you lose it so if T cakes and Snowballs are covered in the dark (no I don't mean during the night .. don't be silly) then they must be good for slimming ... no probs. :-D
It's true I did read it ..or something like it :-S

Robert I did not want to mention snowballs, thought I
would be pushing my luck but now you know of them
remember, a little of what you fancy in moderation ;-)
