Thanks GLass. We are down in the South West and have had a bit of rain - not much but enough to thoroughly dampen my almost dry washing. Grrr!

We shall be stopping off near you Monday (your are near East Kilbride, aren't you?) to have the engine serviced, so look out for two border collies dragging along two old foggies! Do hope it isn't raining then.

George Galloway was in great form in the Commons the other day. His powerful oratory could easily persuade me that he has the answer to everything. Good for him!

And I used to listen to him regularly when he presented a Radio phone-in programme.

George Galloway is a Character, a brilliant orator but sometimes he doesn't know when to stop and his heart is not always in the right place.

I have just had a shock with the Scotsman paper see my other thread I wanted to put an obituary in it but far too dear so now was wondering if anyone who lives near Edinburgh knows of anywhere I can plant a tree the Woodland Trust have a few places but would like to have a choice. :-)

I'm here LadyScozz.... just been busy, that's all.

Although nowhere near as bad as yours, we had a wee flood in our house and this has kept me busy over the last week.
The shower leaked into the kitchen below, brought down some of the ceiling and knocked out most of the power for a couple of days

We had only 2 working power sockets downstairs, and one of them was being used by carpenters who were doing work on our garden.
Electrics and shower are both fixed, I also now have a beautiful big decked area in the garden and a.... big hole in the kitchen ceiling! :-D :-D

Guess what I got today?

An invite to a 21st birthday party ( twin niece and nephew).
It's a ..... CEILIDH!

When I worked on Iona, there were not a lot of places to go for social activities, no pubs, no cinemas, no dance halls, but one thing you could be sure of was there were always a good ceilidh somewhere, at a local croft, round a campfire at the youth camps, or in the undercroft underneath the refectory of The Abbey - loved them and suffered more than a few headaches from some of the local crofters home made potcheen :-(

Doing my National Service in the RAF over 60 years ago at Stranraer, we used to go on a Saturday night to the dance in the Village Hall in Portpatrick. It wasn't a Ceilidh but could be just as wild!!
