Abbotsinch was at one time a Royal Naval Air Station. I remember about 60 years ago going there to a Cadet camp. |

Just short of 500 years ago ( Sep 1513 ) one of my ancestors was leading his men under the command of the Duke of Norfolk at a place called Branxton in Northumbria. His foot soldiers were armed with a very big stick called a bill. |
