That's a bit forward of you isn't it?

It sounds like they have quite a repertoire.

GinN Report 29 Jun 2013 17:37

Yes, GP, I'm sure they should have a little sugar in them!

Errol, I think I've heard them singing "Blaydon Races" and "Keep Your Feet Still Geordie Hinny". :-D :-D

GinN - I had a quick look on the internet and found a recipe for "Singing Hinnies".
I'm sure my mother used to add sugar in her recipe.

Mersey - You would be more than welcome in Newcastle ;-) ;-)

Errol - It looks suspiciously like a Northumberland Tartan (Good Taste)

GinN - My mother used to bake "Singing Hinnies" on the griddle plate over the coal fire and they were lovely and sweet and you could hear them singing while they were baking.

I will have you know that it is a black and white check, woven today as the Shepherd tartan.

Originally the Falkirk Tartan, it is an ornamental twill weave check of natural light and dark wool and was discovered at Falkirk in the neck of a jar containing Roman coins. The find is thought to have been buried about 260 AD.

Hello, Mersey et all! I've been in the kitchen most of today, making cakes for our Village Hall funds. Haven't made any for years (dodgy oven!), but my new oven is a star. I've made Earl Grey Tea Loaf, Chocolate Fudge Cake and Cherry and Pecan Rock Buns. I've excelled myself - not bad for a school home economics failure!
