I saw John's thread last night

noted that I was on his list of people he had told to avoid

but I did not bother posting on it

but I did speed read most of it, and noted that most people were taking it in a joke-y way.

I also saw Sue's thread calling on him to delete it ............... and, to be honest, could not understand why.

I knew Sandie from the Welsh thread, and thoroughly enjoyed talking to her ................... but I quite honestly could not understand where Sue was coming from.

I did not see John's thread as being disrespectful to Sandie or to her friends in any way.

I even went back to John's thread and re-read part of it ....... and still did not understand.


Like Carol and Claddagh, I find the hounding of John by a group of people who deliberately post on every thread just to berate him, seemingly with the aim to drive him off the site to be downright bullying.

IT WAS ME WHO DISAGREED WITH SUE'S THREAD AND HER WORDING,UNFORTUNATLY I WAS OUTSIDE ALL AFTERNOON AND FORGOT TO COPY IT SO IF ANYONE DID COPY IT THEY WILL SEE FROM MOST OF THE REPLYS ARE FED UP OF IT ALL,I HAD PM'S AGREEING WITH ME BUT ASKED ME NOT TO NAME THEM,,I AGREE JOHN IS A BIT ERRRRR !!!!! AT TIMES BUT HE IS HOUNDED WHENEVER HE POSTS,LAST NIGHTS I TREATED TONGUE IN CHEEK BUT A FEW OTHERS TOOK OFFENCE,BECAUSE OF A LOVELY MEMBERS DEATH AND THAT WE SHOULD OF HAD A SILENCE DAY

Carol - I have not told John he can't post on any of my threads - I would not presume to tell anyone what they can and can't do - not my place - glad you found it so funny

And no again - I tend to avoid his threads

I have an issue with him in that he was very rude to me and never apologised

l am one of those who asked John not to post on my threads (not sure about AnnC though)...and l will do it again if necessary.
l no doubt wind people up and he winds me up, end of!!
The last remark l saw him post today was in my opinion very unnecessary, crude even!!....and to me he often posts posts/threads that are rude, tasteless, condescending, taking the micky or what ever.

Many were on Johns thread lst night, they never appear till then or at least have nothing to contrubitue elsewhere,
but maybe he appeals to their size of a cattle prod, who knows,

Wasnt Eldrick recived just the same.? a poster of these boards raised tempetures to boiling point at one time,yet is now a great buddy to some...things move on with the passage of times, it has to or life would still be in the past of hatred and stress and its a nasty thing to cope with..

Carol and Claddagh I too agree with you both. I feel this hounding of one person by a number of other people amounts to bullying, one to one well then it's six of one half dozen of the other but for a group to descend on everything someone says .. well it beats me. I don't know John personally never really see much agro in his mail (maybe I'm dense) and by the looks of it he seems to manage to bear the full brunt of the agro OK but if that was someone else I think it would hurt a lot......If it was me I would be a hundred miles away by now , which may well turn out anyway lol! :-(

Hmmmm.......well I expect I may be in the minority here but I read John's thread and it actually made me laugh.....all the quips and wit made a change....I don't think anyone took him seriously and he didn't seem to mind being slaughtered for his wind up.

It seemed to be one of his better threads......but then.....that is just my opinion......I was hoping to be added to his list of those whose threads he wouldn't post on too :-D

Edit....if that is the thread we are speaking of, that is.

Are you saying that you are NOT one of the people who have told John he cannot post on your threads, & yet as soon as he puts up a new thread... there you are.

I did ask John to delete it as it was clearly causing a lot of friction

I really admire you carol, you say what I dearly would love to say..I know from pm's that there are a LOT of Gr members who feel the same. Sparkling S would certainly have diapporoved of all the aggro on the boards...she seemed to have been a really nice, decent, well-balanced women, unlike a lot of the 'nasties' that post.....Sorry again, I really hate to say this, but, it is true that too many are hounding John.....

That's why I prefer Facebook....

2. You can say what you like without someone 30 years younger, telling you what a naughty person you have been when they remove your post.

3. If you do not wish to see someone elses posts they can be blocked

Sues thread I last saw mid morning and was very reasonable.

The thread was abusive... reported & removed by GR

However its removal means that all those posts by members who agree that this constant hounding of John is out of order have also gone.

We all feel for Sandie's family & friends, but do not actually know them. At any one moment in time there are probably several other people on this site grieving for a loved one.

From her posts Sandie seemed to enjoy life, but always seemed to think about them before hitting 'post'.

Perhaps rather than carrying on this childish name calling by proxy, it is time an end was put to it.

I do not think that any of the words used... then edited by Sue...now being repeated... are those that should be used at all on this site by adults who should know better.

There were many other 'frivolous' posting in the afternoon prior to the thread John put on last night. His thread was such an absolute wind-up and I posted on it to say as much. Nobody acknowledged my post but continued adding to it anyway.

Lyndi, yes it is a pity that the post by Supercrutch was deleted because it did contain a great deal of varied opinions from members and I actually typed a reply but unfortunately when I hit the submit button it had disappeared!
Edited typed remit not submit.
