I think that maybe you had better hand the bottle of Alnwick Rum over to me for safekeeping.

Barbinsglos I have no idea how old he is. Maybe you can get him to open up a little.

BarbinSGlos Report 24 May 2013 20:54

Just read it Errol and so sorry for Taddy1

That traumatic experience could have physcologically harmed you in some way. Perhaps made you feel a bit sheepish in some circumstances.

I'll keep my eye on him if you tell me how old he is first

GeordiePride Report 24 May 2013 20:53

Yes that where it comes from Errol - Sober as a Newt.
Have I got that right - This Alnwick Rum is having an adverse effect on my thinking.

eRRolSheep Report 24 May 2013 20:49

Had you been drinking too GeordiePride? Is that where the phrase comes from?
Incidentally, I have never actually seen a drunken newt.

GeordiePride

GeordiePride Report 24 May 2013 20:48

I was in that one Errol - I was a newt.

I talked about him on another thread but find it too upsetting to go into detail again.
I shall bump the thread up for you Barbinsglos. The thread title is something to do with animals.
While I am doing that could you keep your eye on Taddy2 please?
I saved him actually from a life of debauchery.
When I discovered him he was acting in a frog's porn film.

Shaken if you don't mind and I'll pass on the olive.
Could you also do a small cognac for Taddy2, my pet tadpole, but keep your eye on him - he has a drink problem.

Try the Mount Gay rum.
Aside from the name always making me snigger I think it is also the oldest rum in the world.

BarbinSGlos

BarbinSGlos Report 24 May 2013 18:57

Don't we all, Barbinsglos, don't we all

BarbinSGlos

As I am sat here with my heating on it all sounds so idyllic. Rum was named after the local hooch many many years ago because of the rumbustuous behaviour it caused if one drunk too much.

I quite fancy a little bit of that ;-) ;-)
