Got a PM a few weeks back re someone in my tree.
The contact was a woman in OZ looking for info on her Scottish" uncle" from the mid/late 1800's.
I tried extremely hard to explain that the Scottish name of Christian was always female, and evolved to become Christina.
I was told that she has loads of contacts and all of them have this person as male and all are searching for his marriage.
Even the IGI shows the birth as female but she was having none of it!
I have more than 20 people named Christian in my family tree and all of them are female.
She has never heard such nonsense!
Yes, that's exactly what she said.
I wished her luck in her search...lol

Fiona,..found this..app. its a boys name(although it must have been used for either,as your ancestor was a woman)

Ingo meaning and name origin

Ingo \i-ngo, in-go\ as a boy's name is of Danish and Scandinavian origin, and the meaning of Ingo is "meadow; lord".

H&D - Ewan Kerr is just cruel :-|

There's also Wayne King.
Bloke at work's wife is expecting a girl. They're thining of calling her Ophelia - I had to gently point out that she couldn't marry anyone with the surname Ball.

Thankfully it was my mum's best friend who married Mr Hoyles. Mum's first name was Olive.

My mother in her younger days went out with a lad called Johnny Nut and he had a sister called Hazel, poor girl :-|

Also have a woman who married one of my ancestors and she was called Ingo Swan Fairweather on my tree, could the name Ingo be short for something?
