Again, may I please say...

"Just please don't let it turn nasty (not directed that at anyone in particular)"

Joan, sadly we shall have days of this because she was such an influential part of British history

Sue, I'm just setting the record straight, Ann said in regard to her thread that she only said she didn't like Margaret Thatcher which as I've posted above was not the case.

I refute that it was full of hate - I pointed out that I held her responsible for the decline of our manufacturing industry

Porkie Pie,,

I was talking about what is written on this thread NOT AnnC'thread as I didn't read it as it had been deleted before I came on the boards this morning.

Porkie_Pie

Porkie_Pie Report 8 Apr 2013 17:13

Although I never copied what AnnC said, I did contribute to her thread but removed it after her post which was not simply to say she didn't liked Margret Thatcher Her post was full of abusive comment and HATE, I stated on the thread that I was removing my post because I didn't realise it was a Hate thread.

If AnnC is not allowed to say she dilikes Maggie then how come 2 have wrapped the same words in their post. And I have wrote that I don't like her.

Seems to be whats good for the goose is good for the gander.

More for the historical aspect, I will go to see the ceremonial funeral, as I do most state events that happen in London.

I will also be respectful that it is a funeral of someone's Mother/Grandmother/family member/friend.

eRRolSheep

eRRolSheep Report 8 Apr 2013 16:33

I think that in some ways that is appropriate

InspectorGreenPen

InspectorGreenPen Report 8 Apr 2013 16:32

It is announced that she will have a ceremonial funeral with military honours at St Paul's Cathedral.

As far as I am concerned, I don't have a problem with anyone contributing to this thread so long as it is not disrespectful, is based on fact or experience and does not contravene either T&Cs or the law.

I have a lot of respect and admiration for Margaret Thatcher, and I wish there was someone of her calibre in politics today. She was so strong and determined in her resolve to make Britain great once more, and she would never back down. Her policies were tough - when the mortgage interest rate rose to 15%, we barely managed to keep going, but she was right.

RIP Margaret, a great leader.

Not worth commenting honestly, Errol, it will surely be reported if it's negative..

I said much the same as Chrissie but was villified for it - waits for the brickbats again

People are being criticised for going against the grain, if this was a death of someone who was disliked for a crime and no sorrow was shown I doubt an eyelid would have been batted.

It's how, as individuals, we perceived Mrs. Thatcher and the good or negative impact her policies made on our lives.

I missed the removed posts so haven't a clue how they were worded so I will just say I am completely ambivalent.
