Lolly. I did not explain myself. But round the entrance is very congested and quite dangerous sometimes.

There were literally hundreds of parking spaces (including disabled) that could be accessed easily within 100 yards of entrance. This driver was determined to get the nearest bay to the shop, so he drove to the entrance and then picked the first space (which was the first of the disabled places).

There was absolutely no need for him to drive that close to the entrance. It was a perfect example of laziness in my opinion. I may have been wrong, but I just thought of this thread when he did it. :-)

Please give it a rest, Errol. He was not any of those things, so just leave it. Can I not make a simple observation that is relevant to the thread without a page of justification?

Disabled people are disabled for many different reasons. Some can run. Some can swim.

John for a "so called" alleged christian you are incredibly judgmental.
There are many people who are more than able to "gambol" but are also disabled.
I have no idea where swampy feet came from but please think before you post because it could upset many people.

If you had swampy feet, I would notice it immediately Errol.

If you happily gambolled up the hillside like he happily gambolled into the store, I would conclude that I didn't need to call a vet.

On the other hand you are not privy to his medical history nor his actual condition so it is very judgmental of you to make assumptions. Just because people can move at a moderate speed does not mean that they have no disability.

Just been to Tesco in Llantrisant (live very well) and there were hardly any cars on the car park so parked quite close and walked to entrance to get trolly.

Big car drove past me right outside door. Nearly hit me as I wasn't expecting a car. Then he swung into the nearest disabled bay, a very plump man of about 40, and rushed into the store with no obvious disability.

This sort of thing happens too often (and happened to Michael in OP) to be a coincidence. They only care about Numero Uno.

I wanted to say to the man in the flash silver car who parked in the child and parent parking space in Tescos this morning. "If you have a child seat in your car, you need a child in it to park here". But didn't have the nerve, then said to OH (feeling benevolent), well his child might be in the shop with Mummy.

I have also observed that cars have lights at the side that can that flash on and off. This could be a way of tellling other drivers which way you will be turning.

Strangely, I believe most of us with our eyesight are aware of the trolleys available. Hopefully, drivers can also see the different parking bays.

......and there's a special needs lad in our local Sainsbury's who helps the blind with their shopping, and will even take a trolley full of shopping to the taxi rank/bus stop....

Drivers - are you aware that there are things called windscreen wipers on your car. If you turn these on when it starts rainining, it is an aid to seeing where the road is.

Scozz. Do you have bays near the door with wheelchair and mother and toddler signs. These parking bays are designed to help people like yourself and parents with small children.

They get still get whacked by runaway trolleys and sometimes cars going a little faster than 5mph speed limit as they buzz quickly round the entrance trying to find a space as near the door as possible (which is what really annoys me when they are able bodied). And very often those annoying and uncaring people in a great rush park in one of those bays, leap out without any children or obvious difficulty and run or waddle quickly into the shop!!!

Also, most larger supermarkets have disabled clip-on trollies, disabled toilets, sometimes scooters and usually staff will be very helpful. I remember seeing one elderly friend in Tesco in Northants being wheeled round by a member of staff who was helping her with her shopping.

Two types of trolley in our supermarket. The big ones are free, you have to deposit either $1 or $2 in the small ones. I have no idea why the large one is non-deposit.

I have to use the small trolley, because I cannot bend over to put things in the trolley or take them out at the checkout.

By the time I have walked around the supermarket, and got back to the car, my legs are swollen, from halfway down my calves, my ankles & my feet.

I can't stay on my feet for more than hour without this happening.

YES I have seen a doctor, YES I have had loads of tests. Doc has no idea what is causing this.

I return the trolley and get my $1 or $2 back.

Have you ever seen a runaway trolley in a shopping centre carpark?? They cause terrible scratching on cars, I hate to think what would happen if a toddler got run into.
