Very rare to find something so gripping, where it didn't lose pace over the episodes.

Totally irrelevant but just found out that my gt gt grandmother's maiden name was McDonald...which is DT's real surname...he could be my long lost something cousin :-D

Interesting turn of events, I was unsure to the point that the detective caught Tom's dad with the phone. Look forward to the next series.

Whilst I thoroughly enoyed this series (It was fantastic) was I the only one who felt quite deflated by this last episode?

The murderer was found quite early in the episode and the rest was pretty lame. I had had my suspicions as Joe was the only person who did not get hauled in by the police!!! My main praise is for Olivia Colman, in this episode she portrayed her anger, disappointment and shame to such a strong degree. She should get an award just for those scenes.

But how can they have another series, unless they have 2 new lead characters. He is to be medically retired and she will be unable to stay in the police, even if she was to go to another area.

:-(

I thought the last episode tied all the ends up very nicely indeed.

Olivia Coleman was wonderful, and I knew she would fly at her husband in the interrogation room.

Pleased they are going for a second series, and hope they keep the leads, but who knows.

See, I knew it was Professor Plum, in the Library with the candlestick.

:-D :-D :-D :-D

A 2nd series has been announced

But it would be very hard to have the same 2 lead characters as one was medically retired from the force and the other would have been unable to remain in the force due to her domestic circumstances.

:-D

Broadchurch was brilliant. But it was a One-Off, without David Tennant and the wonderful Olivia Colman a sequel cannot come anywhere near the original.
There was only one "Goodnight Mr. Tom" and there can only be one Broadchurch.

Let it rest on its well-deserved laurels.

They have said it won't necessarily be the same characters or even a murder because this one was a one off, but there will be another Broadchurch.
