Did you tie the sermon in with St David's Day?
Saint David would have been quite an interesting person to include because of his beliefs.

Kay????

Kay???? Report 24 Feb 2013 17:02

If you spouted chapter and verse as its written its a wonder the flock arent still wondering about the green valleys blank eyed and wearing ear muffs..... ;-) :-D :-D :-D :-D

Hi John - what was the general gist? Is it a methodist church?
Very interested.

JustJohn Report 24 Feb 2013 16:52

I know very little of the Bible, GP. I was a late starter as far as church was concerned. Was probably an atheist and used to take the michael out of churchgoers till I was about 36yo. So I can hardly be critical of you or anybody else who takes the michael out of me.

Preaching since 1999 (almost every week) and, although I am still as nervous as a kitten and never feel prepared, so far it has always worked out. :-D

Errol. My notes are almost unintelligible to me. I kept scribbling bits out and adding bits in this morning when doing final preparation.

No GP - not much googling at all. But I did find parts of this thread to be amazingly useful and would like to thank many of you who have clearly thought about this issue spiritually.

I had notes for about 5 minutes, so fact I was able to confidently spout on for perhaps 30 minutes with hardly any notes and not bore the pants off people spoke volumes for what we can do when God is with us and when you have quite a few very knowledable and thoughtful people on a serious thread like this.

Thanks for posting thread, OFG :-D :-D

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 24 Feb 2013 15:04

Well I wouldn't want to be the one left holding it :-D

As for the mess nobody will be able to walk on the mountainous carpet ;-) there is enough errr....'stuff' been brushed under already :-D :-D

The church is no different to any other organisation, it doesn't want bad publicity!

eRRolSheep

eRRolSheep Report 24 Feb 2013 14:47

Does that mean if they drop the potato and it makes a mess of the carpet they will be able to sweep it up?
