I think I might start a thread - who knows the best prayer.

As you have oft pointed out, John, this is a thread about whether catholic priests should be allowed to marry and not a depository for prayers and sermons.

I reported your last post and explained exactly why to GR.

You will only achieve a division within members which may be hard to close.

There is no need to continually preach at us, that's what your congregation have offered themselves for. We don't have that luxury but are subjected to it continually not just on a Sunday either.

There has been a lot of good debate here, amongst the other stuff ;-), I've learnt quite a lot! Still not sure, from a personal point of view I don't really care, but it all seems like gross hypocrisy. If celibacy is a 'promise' rather than a strict requirement, in that there were and are married priests, I don't see why ALL priests should not have the option to be married if they choose. Is a married priest less effective, less well regarded, less godly?? The thing that sticks in my throat, however, is the notion that celibacy is 'better' than a loving, sexual union :-(.

Perhaps now the preaching can be confined to the Christian thread and a debate means just that and not a sermon :-D

The number of times people have said I am all over the threads when perhaps I have contributed to four on first two pages.

Edit. On first two pages as I write, I have contributed to three threads (one of which I started). And it has seldom been much more than that. So you all have 36 threads out of 40 to contribute to without ever seeing me post
