I've only been posting in the last year (altho' I've been a member since 2005) and I have been surprised at the amount of "agression" on some threads. It has often put me off posting on a topic. I know I can ignore the threads where this occurs but often they start off as interesting discussions and I would like to add my ideas. There is a difference between criticising someone's ideas and criticising them personally.

Cyber life is the same as real life - not everyone will get on, but we could at least all be polite to each other, as a lot of members are.

Moan over. Have a good day everyone.

PH :-D

I will don my thick tights, boots, hat, scarf & gloves ready to venture out now, not to feed the birds but to go get more food for them, the box I keep it in is nearly empty.

I am one of the "Happy" people. :-D

I am sat here wearing my kaftan, bells on my ears, rings on my toes and flowers in my hair. ;-)

I do sit here cringing and shaking my head when i read some of the personal and mean spirited comments that are posted towards other members on here at times.

Why do people do that? :-S

I would much prefer to just ignore someone i didn't particularly like on here rather than post a mean or goading comment.

That simple isn't it? ;-)

Just off to feed the birds...........Tuppence a bag......tuppence, tuppence, tuppence a bag..........la la lalala la.

Sue I understand what you mean, you always seem a very wise lady, and we can all have our "moments" lettting it out is a great way to release tension & anger. Susan I think I have gone in the reverse to you. After working almost all of my life in a predominately male dominated environment, I have always had to “fight my corner” I now take a much more relaxed view, I smile, and let things go over my head. However, I can be relied on to put up a good case if I feel the need arises and can still kick a few buts. As I always say "It takes all sorts to make the world go round" :-D :-D

Hello Paula :-D

With son so far away and lots of family in the States it's a cost consideration too. A 10 minute call to my son costs over £20 plus VAT. Via skype or whatsapp it's free :-D

I think a lot of us who are stuck indoors rely on tech to natter throughout the day. If an argument is happening I don't click away from it...lolol it's going to be the most excitement I have had for ages ;-)

I can only speak for myself Gwen when I say I agree with you to a certain extent.

I find myself becoming less tolerant which may be a form of aggression I suppose.

Over the years I have usually not bothered answering the more contentious threads even if I felt strongly about something. Now and again though I will pop my head up and say what I think. I find that the problem now is that I try to write faster than I am able and when making comments do not edit them before letting rip. There was a time I would make sure nothing could be misconstrued by anything I say... Alas, judging by my latest efforts, this is no longer so......I must go back to just saying.......Ommmmmmmm!

Morning Dizzi,

It's no different now to years past except it's concentrated on one board. The arguments in recent times have been quite mild compared to quite a few we used to have.

Not saying it's right or wrong it just IS.

My laptop is always on and it sits on my handy hospital table (one of the over the bed thingies) right in front of me...lolol so I get my pings straight away. I have my ipad and phone on alert too, sad innit?

Those together with my land line keep me in touch, so I take the good stuff along with the bad all day and there is more good than bad.

I am not so much aggressive as grumpy :-D

xx

Ain't it strange how just one word can convey different messages to different people.
Look how this thread has taken off by just using the word "Aggressive"

Here`s another one of those single words that would send out different messages to different people... "SEX"

NO!... I am not going to start a thread with SEX as the topic heading..roflmso
:-D :-D :-D

I do find it a bit 'tetchy' at the moment, most likely because I AM tetchy at the moment, health , money and general annoyances make it easier for me to get annoyed with posts that are 'contrary to my opinions' lol.

The board brings out the best in 'us' when the chips are down, but day to day we all have our little moods of petulance or depression...or, speaking for myself only lol, days when you want to hit someone with a big stick lol ( nooo not literally....well maybe sometimes ;-) )

I would see capital letters as 'shouting' but definately not when you post Dizzi. I think most of us are aware of why you post in capitals and I've certainly not seen any complaints.

But never once rude. A real lady. :-D

George Galloway loves cats. He is a very gentle and sincere politician with a keen eye for detail, Dermot. And a fierce debator.

So although not my cup of tea, he has certainly already left quite a big ring in the pool of life. And he likes cats :-D :-D
