In my view, it's just typical of men to think having a baby is similar to having a number 2!!!

Also, if Pope Joan had a baby - why wasn't it presumed to be an immaculate conception?

And - who was the father (we're talking Vatican City here - lots of allegedly celibate men)

Agree, Joy. And as Popes tend to be elderly, they'd have no problem with accusing us of hysteria and 'womens problems'.

There was one woman Pope - Pope Joan in the 13th century.
They thought she was a man - but then she had a baby - a dead giveaway that she was female (unless you're of a certain Islamic tribe who believe the next leader will be born of a man - hence the wearing of cr*p catchers and the daily inspection of - guess what - in case they'd given birth to the Messiah)
It's because of her, that the Pope has to be raised and 'studied' from underneath to prove he has the appropriate 'equipment'

Edit - Pope joan was written about in the 13th century. She was probably from the 850's!!

I do it quite often Ann but as the world's media had a zillion cameras focused on the person in question that video is going to be shown a few times.

I am not as green as I am cabbage looking Sue the remarks made at some have absoloutely nothing to do with disrespecting the Pope or religion ;-) ;-) ;-)

and on that note my pc is driving me bonkers I kept getting booted off this site and its taken an age to load and I have to be up early in the morning :-(

Please do not watch any TV programmes or read any media as you may be offended by remarks made by the great and good. The current Pope has just been referred to as 'the ostrich Pope' on newsnight. Whilst on HTV he was shown nodding off in his chair.
