Live & let live.

Everyone has the right to love whoever they chose too, and if God made humans both Gay & straight I believe they should all be allowed to get married, and in church if they so wish.

Same goes in some churches regarding divorcees....but that's another story!

Exactly what Mildred said!! :-) :-)

Elizabeth - I think the main contentious issue here is not over the right to marry but whether a church/religion/denomination should be forced to condone such a marriage

Sorry but......the mental image of John glaring at a gay pride march - in that hat - is just too amusing to resist ;-) :-D

Agree Mildred.

"If nothing ever changed, there would be no butterflies".

(I don't know who said that!)

"There is nothing wrong with compassion. But there is something doubtful about the urge to be endlessly tolerant".

(I don't know who said that either! I'm amazed at my own ignorance of many topics.)

I love the Gay Pride event held in Brighton every August - it's fun, happy and, as has been said, flamboyant. Most of us 'boring' heterosexuals enjoy it and everybody's welcome to take part, whatever their sexual persuasion.

As Gwynne, said, I'm all for equality too, but, as Julia commented, not all those in the Church are yet, but they will have to open their minds and accept it eventually.

We have a Gay Mardi Gras here in Sydney every year. It's loud, flamboyant and way over the top......and it's wonderful. Loads of people go and enjoy the fun of the day and I doubt anyone in the parade would give a toss if someone gave "them" a withering glare.

Get over yourself, John. Gay Pride is one day a year. If it bothers you that much stay away from the city. There are 364 other days when you can go to the library.

"They" probably didn't want a grumpy old git trying to rain on their parade but there you were with your withering looks. *various smiley emoticons*

Women have had to put up with that sort of behaviour for centuries from heterosexual men.

,,,,,,gays will act OTT and ponce they are great at sending themselves up to what they feel is peoples expectations of them,,,,,,a gay man dresses and talkes like John Inman,! nothing further from the truth,,all gay women wear teeshirst ,braces and Doc Matrins and talk with a growl.......and when they see someone scowling at them they will act like old jessies and pout.

Not all in a Gay Pride are gay,,,,,,,,some are parents and family suporting the cause...

Some are very lucky they have been spared the trauma of having a scared frightened suicidal normal child who is gay sitting in the closet.

Next time John blow them a kiss back and relax,,,,,,,,they dont really fancy you, they are just being themselves. :-D

a couple of years back my friend and I went on a cruise to the Carribbean - when we were on the island of St Maarten another cruise liner docked alongside ours - it was a lesbian only cruise - thousands of American lesbians, and I do not exaggerate when I say all of them looked like refugees from Dad's Army - all khaki shorts, and Doc Martins
