Sandie. Not being serious when I posted about Knighton. As far as I know, that is one of the most peaceful areas of the UK. Lovely towns to visit. It had a Welsh book shop when I visited about 20 years ago. I got a book and DVD about Fireman Sam in Welsh for children which they loved. "Taniwr Sam" I think he was called in Welsh. :-D |

Not being serious, Sandie. Don't think there have been recent problems in the Knighton and Llanfair Waterdine areas. Though all those castles along Offas Dyke point to a turbulent past :-( |

Sandie. Yes rugby is quite friendly rivalry. But you are forgetting the local war at present time between Radnorshire and Shropshire. A border skirmish - but livelihoods have been lost. :-D ;-) |

I like all softer accents. Favourites are very north of Scotland, west coast of Ireland (like Janet in Dr Finlay's casebook) and French, of course :-D :-D |

If there is one conclusion I would draw, it is that there has been NO competition between England and Wales to see which is best country to live in and which is best language. We have just given our personal opinions. |
