What a truly insulting post John - that is the LOWEST OF THE LOW! :-P

Suzanne :-D :-D 6 for a quid? You rub shoulders with royalty - hope you don't drag them down. As my gran would have said: "You can take the girl out of Speke, but you can't take Speke out of the girl"

Just seen this from Dermot on Savile thread "It is not only what we do, but also what we do not do, for which we are accountable". (Molière).

Don't know who Moliere plays for, but I think that is a load of sphericals. I am not accountable for winning the FA Cup. I don't think I am accountable for USA's fiscal cliff. That Moliere wants to concentrate on practising kicking penalties. :-D ;-)

A nomad, a VW, a (cough) problematic dog, plus black bloomers and a grumpy crutch .... now there's the making of a good Wales-based Saga !!!

Pity we didn't hit the big 'K', but there you go....

Hayley. If it is one you sent at 1615 last night, certainly didn't offend me. I really don't mind being teased if I deserve it. Not too much anyway ;-)

Doesn't matter if thread has died a natural death, I suppose. They almost all do. But I think it got to 974!!! Incredible really on a thread about a man of 83 possibly being a bit rude.

If we list all men and women of 83 whop are a bit rude one at a time, I think we would hit 1,000 by Eastenders :-D :-D Wish Suzannne would put her red frilles back on.

Back on this thread, I mean :-D ;-)

If it's 100 posts wanted , so be it .
I don't think Sue intended that ....and achieved her debate over the grumpy Dr a while back.

I think it has run it's course.

Rebekah. Agree with you about Newport. Of the 3 major cities, it has not yet been "done up" and does need to be revamped somewhat. There are very smart villages nearby and some suburbs are very smart.

I guess the other incidents could happen anywhere. Kids in a cemetery on a Sunday. Staggering, but it happens. Old mad women - well!!!!

A chap came staggering towards me yesterday in Cardiff. Dressed like my avatar with a stick in his hand. So Welsh looking and sounding. Thick Valleys accent. Yelling at top of voice: "I am Welsh. I am not English". Fortunately he went on his way and avoided waving the stick at me. Harmless probably, and that seems to happen in every city.

I truthfully think you were extremely unlucky. The residents of Brynmenyn and Aberkenfig would be very embarrassed. There are plenty of folk with English accents living very happily in both villages. :-) Hope you give us another chance. :-)

OMG Rebekah, That reception was unforgivable , unfortunately there are some extremists in some areas , please don't tar all the Welsh with the same brush.

I hope your experience hasn't put you off all the Welsh :-(

My dad's Welsh, as is my granny. I finally visited in 2009 to see the houses they lived in, I'd been looking forward to this for so long. Sheer hell. First to Aberkenfig, a village near Bridgend where I was pelted with stones by kids in the churchyard - this was on a Sunday! Then to nearby Brynmenyn where a mad woman told me to get off her street (I didnt even have my camera out, I had asked for directions and she took offence to my English accent.) Then onto Newport, a grim bus station if ever I saw one, narrowly avoided being vomited on by passing drunks. My Welsh family say that the Welsh are quick enough to moan and whinge about injustices but need to clean their own country up.
