Can you please post the Brockway thread, Sue. Am sure most of the girls (and quite a few of the lads) would be very interested to judge that photo for themselves.

I would rather be led up "Y Garth" by his gorgeous colleague Sue Charles. :-D

Edit Ta for link. Few minutes of silence whilst we study and form our own opinions ;-)

Yuk, Derek Brockway *spits*

He posted a naked photo of himself on FB and I nearly threw up!

Found it : http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=derek+brockway+photos&hl=en&tbo=u&tbm=isch&

One of Derek Brockway's walks was up Y Garth in "Weatherman Walking" series. Fabulous views from top down the Taff valley to Cardiff and the Channel, and Somerset beyond. And village at start of walk (Gwaleod-y- Garth) is very pretty and is a long street with at least one nice pub. Many walkers sat outside on a warm summer's day.

As AnnC says, very close to M4 J32. Just leave at J32 towards Merthyr on A470 and first exit left. Opposite side of River Taff to the fairytale Castell Coch :-D.

Yes it is boring , same drivel over and over from John who admits that his son does not even speak Welsh , well sorry John but clearly you are not as staunch about Welsh as you are making out .

Lol...sorry Rose,

I don't read back far enough...{Who is Dan ? } lol... Apologises to you and him from me.

Too much drivel and reputation going on now , I just lost track , takes pages to look at one day, mornings worth even! ....if you have a life and aren't sat at PC all day.

Same old etc.
It was fun but getting a bit borish now :-(

That's right, Ann, it was filmed in Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant and Llansilin in Mid Wales but was about Garth Hill.

I can hear my grandmother addressing my grandfather every time I watch it.

" Are you twp, Will?"

TheBlackKnight. I guess we are all a small minority with many of our views - but our views not less valid necessarily. My views about independence are held by 13% of people living in Wales. My views on royalty by about 55%. My views on Welsh language have not really been tested because bi-lingualism was "championed" by various Welsh Secretaries of a left and right persuasion. And the views in Wales about Dr Lewis are 1% for, 5% against, 94% couldn't care less.

I think at work there are 50 of us and the amount keen on Welsh independence from Westminster is probably 2% ie me. But it is not a subject I have ever discussed with any of them - we tend to joke about rugby, football, our families, Katherine Jenkins, restaurants, shows, films and the like. I never mention seperatism or religion to them. Or even my own family, though they obviously know my opinions. I keep the lively, contentious subjects for you lucky people :-D

At my son's Tesco, most of the youngsters can reply to simple Welsh questions. Yes, Rob can. But he could not hold a conversation at length and I don't think the question has ever come up. He does know a couple of associates in the store who are fluent and he would politely ask if they would prefer to be served by a fluent Welsh speaker. It is just good customer relations and he is a very polite young man - take note Conrad Davies. ;-)

Just watching....The man who went up a Hill and came down a mountain........
It's on the yesterday channel now.So funny and is so very Welsh....reminded me of this thread.
The Welsh are trying to increase the height of their "mountain "so it will qualify to be called that.

John: A few who came through to University in Bangor had very little grasp of English in those days, and I can vouch that some had problems in their first year with hearing a lot of English for the first time in their lives.

No TV then? Pretty sure they had electricity :-D

So John does your son speak Welsh to the customers in Tesco if they want him to ?

TheBlackKnight

TheBlackKnight Report 19 Jan 2013 11:27

Change the record John you just keep saying the same thing over n over n over again. You think you represent Wales but many people that live in Wales don't agree with many things you say & have told you so. Can it be the rest of the world is wrong & John is the only person that is correct?, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I don't think so.
We all know you love Wales that is clear to all. Now just leave it there because repeating you're self all the time is not doing you any good at all. When you have nothing new to say, say nothing.

LOL at Sandie's

" Who's Dan ? Is he the equivalent of the American John Doe"

Pretty much lol in that he appears in my conversations without anyone here having met him :-D

Just as an aside re learning Welsh though, he did attend school where everything was taught through the medium of Welsh from 4-7 BUT he doesn't remember it from 10 years ago...whereas I learnt it longer than 45 years ago from age 6 to 9 and can still recognise some of it, counting and odd words.

and talk about going over old ground - regurgitating a pile of stuff from Wikpedia and John's so fertile mind :-S :-S

saying the same old thing over and over again does not make it more credible - Robyn Lewis is a pompous old grumpy git - that has been established - end of
