Good morning :-)
I don't know why I have so many problems logging on - have spoken to Support several times. Maybe its because my Inbox is huge due to all the messages I have sent over the years.
Thanks for those kind words.....appreciate them. :-D
Lord on this day I am aware of the troubles and darkness in our world.
Please come and lead me in prayers for my community, my nation and the world. You are the light that shines in the bleakest times, let your Kingdom be built on earth. May those who suffer be comforted, may those who are at war search for peace, and may those who are in pain find healing. Amen.

I second what Emma has said. It’s always good to read your posts no matter what the time is. Thank you.
I wonder why you have trouble getting on the site. I think I must be lucky as I seldom have a problem logging on.
Thoughts for anyone in need of a little tlc tonight <3

Good afternoon :-)
I am thoroughly cheesed off with the length of time it takes me to log onto this site. I wait around for ages and then go off to do something else and forget to come back. My apologies.
May Thursday be a hope filled day, That floods my fears with light, A day that quiets all anxious thoughts As I encounter Christ. Let Thursday always prompt my heart To stop and find Your peace, And live upon the truth You give My eyes to You I lift.

Good morning :-)
Oh I remember that saying Emma! :-D
Not too bad getting on here today thank goodness, so my patience is preserved :-D
One of the tiny pupils at our school is in a hospital in Manchester and in a coma due to meningitis. We pray for this child and for his family at this worrying time.
For today :
A prayer for each one of us this morning:
Lord, thank You that You are with me. Help me to trust and depend on You today. It’s easy to lean on my own understanding but sometimes my understanding is wrong.
Help me to sense Your presence with me. Give me a stronger desire to read the Bible and to understand what You are saying to me.
Show me what I need to clear from my heart and life today.
Give me a greater desire to take quiet moments to be aware of You in my day.
Help me choose to interact with other Christians and to keep Your word central in my life. Grow my faith as I face this new day. Amen.

Good afternoon :-)
It just takes me so long to get on here in the mornings that, quite frankly, I sometimes have to give up because I lose patience. tuts.
Tuesday prayer
Lord, on this day I chose to put You first May this day be a gentle time Of love and kindness shown, To all my friends and family A love that helps us grow.
Let Tuesday always prompt my heart To place my life in You. To see Your holy will be done I give my life anew.
Amen.

Another Monday is upon us!
Monday morning prayer
Lord,
Sometimes, Monday can be a hard day. Dreaded on Sunday and fled from on a Friday.
Yet why Lord as Monday could be the beginning of a work adventure, the new challenge of a week filled with potential? So I pray you would help me to embrace this day.
Let it be a new day and a wonder day. Help me to see not the clouds but the sunrise, not the rain but the ripples of falling drops.
Show me the joy of the embrace with loved ones, not the tensions and troubles. Monday need not be the grudge day to be endured but the fun day to be embraced.
This day, help me to turn my eyes towards your Kingdom, of love, hope and new beginnings. Amen.

Good morning - belatedly! :-)
I couldn't get on here first thing and got distracted. Have not been to church this morning because of the weather........hate not going, it feels really strange. :-( Yes, I have been thinking of the homeless as well - and for those animals left out in the cold too.
So pleased to hear that you and your OH are recovering Vera. Our son seems to have had something similar and has still not recovered yet.
Glad your birthday went well Emma - lovely to celebrate it with family and friends.
We had our Spring Fair yesterday and raised £1140 which wasn't bad at all - it all helps.
The Collect (special prayer) set for today.
Most merciful God, who by the death and resurrection of your Son Jesus Christ delivered and saved the world: grant that by faith in him who suffered on the cross we may triumph in the power of his victory; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
The Gospel set for today tells of Jesus speaking of his forthcoming death.
Love to all Cx :-)

OH and I are not yet 100% but are getting there. Thank you for your good wishes.
You are right Emma - loving family and friends are a great blessing.
With the apparent return of winter, my thoughts are with those who are homeless or in poverty and in need of support.

Brrrr it's going to be a chilly weekend apparently....time to wrap up warm again.
A prayer for Saturday - the beginning of the weekend.
Lord, on this preparation day, I wake to live and give. May it be a worthwhile day, fill up to the brim. A day with service, laughter, work and play, A time to run and sing. May Saturday be a day I walk And breathe your goodness in, Enjoy the beauty all around And freedoms joy within.

Hello there kandj - lovely to see you. Hoping the sun soon shines and lifts yours spirits a little. <3
So many ways of expressing Christian hope - this hymn does it well.
In Christ alone my hope is found, He is my light, my strength, my song; This Cornerstone, this solid Ground, Firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace, When fears are stilled, when strivings cease! My Comforter, my All in All, Here in the love of Christ I stand.

Good morning :-)
Good heaven's! I managed to get on here without too much difficulty. Mind you, I tried two browsers.... :-D
Many moons ago children, in church schools and Sunday schools, were taught to memorise such things as bible verses, psalms, the nunc dimittis and other 'staples' from the bible or Book of Common Prayer.
The idea behind this was, probably, to help build up their knowledge of the good book and to be able to bring comforting words to mind during difficult times in their lives. I am not sure that there are many school which do this any more - more's the pity - but sometimes, the more traditional type of prayer just 'hits the spot'.
Oh God, Enlighten my mind with truth; Inflame my heart with love; Inspire my will with courage; Enrich my life with service. Pardon what I have been; Sanctify what I am; Order what I shall be and thine will be the glory And mine the eternal salvation, Through Jesus Christ my Lord. Amen.

Good evening all
I haven’t posted for a couple of weeks as OH and I were both struck down with the dreaded flu and are only just beginning to rejoin the human race. Even now OH is spending most of the day just sitting in a chair and I have to rest for an hour between each little job. We are both exhausted but I am trying not to complain. There are so many people who are unwell and we are very fortunate that we can afford to stay warm and comfortable. My thoughts are with those who are not so lucky.
I am glad that you were able to spend time with your daughter and granddaughter Kandj. It is good that you can support and comfort each other.
Thank you Cynthia and others for your posts. I do read even when I don’t respond <3

Good morning :-)
We rarely get family visitors, apart from our children, as our families mostly living down south. However, yesterday, we had a visit from OH's brother and wife which was nice and we caught up on various things.
For today:
Whilst many folk have moved away from the Book of Common Prayer onto more modern forms of worship, there are still some beautiful passages to be found within the pages of that service book……take a look at this for hope….
God Is Our Hope
God is our hope and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore will we not fear, though the earth be moved, and though the hills be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though the waters thereof rage and swell, and though the mountains shake at the tempest of the same.
There is a river, the streams whereof make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High.
-- Book of Common Prayer 1979
Love to all Cx :-)
