I saved this one some time ago but have no information on where it came from originally?
Dear Lord
So far today I am doing alright,
I have not gossiped, lied or said anything bad about anyone,
I have not been grumpy, nasty, self indulgent or greedy,
I have not been impatient complained or sworn,
I have not even charged anything to my credit card account, and I have not eaten any chocolates
However,in a few minutes I am going to get up, and
I Will need a lot more help after that
Amen

Good morning ... :-)
After changing browsers a couple of times - I have arrived :-D
Thanks Emma, your prayer fits in so well with this one......
"I got up early one morning And rushed right into the day; I had so much to accomplish That I didn't have time to pray. Problems just tumbled about me, And heavier came each task; 'Why doesn't God help me?' I wondered. He answered, 'You didn't ask.' I wanted to see joy and beauty But the day toiled on grey and bleak I wondered why God didn't show me He said, 'But you didn't seek', I tried to come into God's presence; I used all my keys in the lock. God gently and lovingly chided, 'My child, you didn't knock.' I woke up early this morning, And paused before entering the day; I had so much to accomplish That I had to take time to pray."

While clearing out some paper work came across these words.
I Will Be Busy
O Lord, You know how busy I must be this day. If I forget you, do not forget me.
Sir Jacob Astley, before the Battle of Edgehill, 1642.
With all our busy lives I find this in 2018 to fit in as much today as then x

Love these encouraging words......
Every morning lean your arms awhile upon the windowsill of heaven and gaze upon the Lord. Then with the vision in your heart, turn strong to meet your day.

Good morning :-)
Today is Ascension Day
Forty days after the resurrection, Jesus and His disciples went to Mount Olivet, near Jerusalem. There, Jesus promised His followers that they would soon receive the Holy Spirit, and He instructed them to remain in Jerusalem until the Spirit had come. Then Jesus blessed them, and as He gave the blessing, He began to ascend into heaven. The account of Jesus' ascension is found in Luke 24:50-51 and Acts 1:9-11.
You are free, Lord, your Ascension has set you free: free from the constraints of human existence, outside the limitations of time and space; free to be here with us now, in our worship and fellowship; and free to be with us always; for in your freedom you have bound yourself to us with a promise: “Lo! I am with you always even to the very end of time.”
Love to all Cx :-)

Dear God,
As the sun rises bringing a new dawn Help me this day to allow your hope to rise up within me. That I may carry this new dawn To my family, my work and my dreams. And remember that I am forgiven And I'm living anew today. Thank you.

Some encouragement for today....
Lord, grant me courage as I go through this day. When I am tempted to give up, help me to keep going. Grant me a cheerful spirit when things don't go my way. And give me courage to do whatever needs to be done. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Hello all
Not read back but I'm saying Amen for your prayer today Cynthia Thank you..
I'm still struggling here with legalities and red tape and finding days/nights difficult.
The sunshine is a bonus for us all after a long cold Winter, this is my prayer today...
THANK GOD
What better prayer to shape our minds or fit our tongues or grace our pen?
No prayer is shorter to say or sweeter to hear or grander to think on or more fruitful to practise.
(Saint Augustine).

After a week of looking at growth in the Christian faith, a week of encouragement now....
Dear Lord, help me remember what a difference it makes when I make time with You a priority in my morning. Awaken me in body and spirit each day with a desire to meet with You and to listen for your word. Amen.

Good morning :-)
This naughty step I am on is getting crowded :-D
Tis a beautiful Sunday morning.............we are blessed.
The Collect (special prayer) for today:
God our redeemer, you have delivered us from the power of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of your Son: grant, that as by his death he has recalled us to life, so by his continual presence in us he may raise us to eternal joy; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
The Gospel set for today tells us of Jesus saying…..
“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you”.
Very quiet wedding yesterday. The bride's parents were sadly missed. <3

Good afternoon :-)
Thank you Vera and I quite agree that sometimes the posts make for uncomfortable reading.......and that's how we grow... :-D
Our late beloved vicar's daughter was married this morning and I went to watch. I've also been invited to the evening 'do' so our son is coming over to dadsit whilst I go with daughter. Won't be there long I am sure, but it will make a nice change.
For today :
After looking at ‘spiritual babes’ this last week, what do we see in ‘mature’ Christians….? Just a small sample of what I found.
They follow Jesus’ steps closely.
They look for bible principles that help them to know what is right and what is wrong.
The highs and lows of life don’t impact on their relationship with God.
They understand Christianity doesn’t have an on/off switch.
They work hard to keep the congregation in unity.
Now I need to look for some Christian Baby Bio for myself!
God, show me how to shine for you. Uncover my spiritual gift. Help me to embrace it. Teach me to use it for your glory. Allow it to grow, Lord, so that I may become a worthy vessel. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

I have looked in every day though I haven’t posted recently. This week’s posts sometimes make uncomfortable reading as some seem to be aimed straight at me. I don’t think I agree with everything that has been written but they have certainly made me think.
Thank you Cynthia.

Good morning :-)
Knowing that we are all ‘spiritual babes’ in one way or another, how do we grow up in the faith? I thought these comments were quite interesting.
We choose to grow by making right choices and, when we make the wrong choices we choose not to grow.
We feel lazy on Sunday mornings and decide to sleep in; we are deciding not to grow.
We go a week without serious attention to the Word of God; we are sentencing ourselves not to grow.
However, there is a way for God’s children to speed up the maturity process, but it isn’t easy. It’s called persecution.
When believers are persecuted for the faith, maybe killed for being a follower of Jesus Christ, the Lord’s people decide in a hurry to what extent they believe in Him, and how important He is to them.
The faithful who persevere in difficult times grow much faster than those who live in safe societies where serving Christ costs them little or nothing. There are easier ways–not to say more survivable ways–to grow in the Lord.

Good afternoon... :-)
It’s the nature of the immature to be childish. It’s the natural order of things for babies to be infantile. We’re not saying otherwise. We love babies.
Babies can love and laugh and add a great deal to any gathering. They add a lot to the church.
But we don’t want to keep our children as toddlers forever. They should grow and we should grow, spiritually. Some ideas coming tomorrow! :-D
Lord, help us to care for the ‘spiritual babes’ within our churches and friendships. Help us to be encouraging, patient and helpful as they learn more about you. May we always be willing to continue our learning process as we seek to follow you.

Good afternoon :-)
Busy again Emma, but the length of time it often takes me to get on here means I go off and do something else and then forget to come back......sigh :-(
Growing up - as Christians.
Spiritual babes cannot stomach solid food. 1 Corinthians 3:2 says “ I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready”.
These are Christians who haven’t moved on much in the faith. They are still concentrating on the easiest truths of God's Word. They see Him as a God of Love but can't picture Him as a God of wrath and judgment.
Consequently, they resist any kind of strong preaching against sin. It simply doesn't fit into their basic theology. In their limited understanding of spiritual matters, they totally reject the Biblical concept of the "Fear of God," for example.
They find difficulty in understanding how one can fear a God you are called to love.
Lord, we know that when a child begins to crawl, the next logical step is for them to begin to walk. So it is in the Kingdom of God. We know that, as believers, we should always be learning, growing and maturing in the Word of God. Help us, as individuals and as a Church Family, to be continually moving from the milk to the solid food of God’s Word. Amen.
Love to all Cx :-)
