Good morning :-)
Good to see you Nyx......and we continue to hold kandj and her family in love and prayer <3
For today:
Heavenly Father, creator of a universe full of wonder and many still-hidden mysteries. Help us in our modern, sometimes confusing and fast changing world to pause and reflect on your glory and unending grace and in the stillness to listen, like Samuel, for your voice speaking to us alone.
Love to all Cx :-)

Good morning :-)
Just for today, help me, God, to remember that my life is a gift, that my health is a blessing, that this new day is filled with awesome potential, that I have the capacity to bring something wholly new and unique and good into this world.
Just for today, help me, God, to remember to be kind and patient to the people who love me, and to those who work with me too. Teach me to see all the beauty that I so often ignore, and to listen to the silent longing of my own soul.
Just for today, help me, God, to remember You. Let this be a good day, God, full of joy and love. Amen

Good morning :-)
Thank you Emma - you will like today's posting I think.... :-D
Another chance
How often we wish for another chance to make a fresh beginning. A chance to blot out our mistakes and change failure into winning.
It does not take a new day to make a brand new start, it only takes a deep desire to try with all our heart.
To live a little better and to always be forgiving and to add a little sunshine to the world in which we're living.
So do not give up in despair and think that you are through, for there's always a tomorrow and the hope of starting new.

Hello all
Very many grateful thanks to everyone who has offered prayers and kind words of support that have helped our family to cope with so heartbreaking a time just now.
I have just put Helen on the train and now have to adjust to the reality of being in a quiet bungalow on my own. It really does seem so unreal and not quite right. It is bound to get better in time I am sure, but for now I really don't like it at all.
Helen and I went to see her Dad in the village chapel of rest and were both hugely relieved that he looks so peaceful and the years of pain and suffering are gone from his face now. He is still and at rest God bless him.
The funeral date isn't until Monday 29th January which seems to be a long time away, but it will probably come along far too quickly I suspect.
Grateful thanks to Cynthia and to everyone for sharing this grieving time with me and my family. You won't know how your prayerful support has helped in our dark days xx

Glad you enjoyed it Emma :-D
Hello kandj - things are going to be so different for you now - just take each day as it comes - God is good. <3
The Collect (special prayer) set for today
Almighty God, in Christ you make all things new: transform the poverty of our nature by the riches of your grace, and in the renewal of our lives make known your heavenly glory; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen
The Gospel set for today tells of Jesus calling to Philip ‘Follow me’.

Good morning :-)
Yesterday's gospel reading and the quote 'Follow me' was well explained in our sermon yesterday. We welcomed a husband and wife team whom we are supporting in their venture to help the lonely and vulnerable in our community. On New Year's day they, and a band of willing volunteers provided a festive lunch and entertainment for anyone on their own. They fed over 120 people. They also handed out food parcels to those unable to travel and provided food for the emergency services who were working on that day. Well done to them all.
The UK is a country which has very much been shaped by the Christian faith. Many people call themselves Christians simply because they live here – but it doesn’t appear to have a striking impact on the way they live. Unlike other religions, there are no special clothes or daily rituals that make a person immediately recognisable as a Christian.
Over the next few days we will take a look at what it is like to follow Jesus and, indeed, to be a Christian in the truest sense.

Jesus said ‘Follow me’. Food for thought.
To follow Jesus requires faith.
You often hear people say that they want ‘proof’ that God exists.
Those who discover more about Jesus, find their lives shaped by his example and teaching, and in this way, the evidence of God’s presence becomes more and more compelling.
Jesus said that those who followed him would have ‘life in all its fullness’. Christians have found that to be true. They have self-worth, security and purpose that they would not otherwise have known.
Lord, help me to discover more about you today.

Good morning :-)
We have begun Confirmation classes for this year.....the lady vicar who is taking the classes has said how pleased she is with the candidates. They have very clear ideas about why they want to be confirmed and are willing to chat about it. So far, so good :-D
For today:
Jesus said ‘Follow me’.
Following Jesus means that there is a way of moving on from those things we regret – the mistakes we have made, because forgiveness is freely offered by God. So a life of following Jesus often begins with a prayer asking God to forgive us.
Following Jesus means being able to face death or bereavement with reassurance, because we are accompanied by the God who knows the way out of a tomb.
Lord, help me to have the strength and wisdom to follow you. Amen.

JESUS SAID ‘FOLLOW ME’
Following Jesus means….
........ having someone to say thank you to on occasions when a godless view of life seems inadequate, such as times of love, birth and beauty.
......... means that during the times of real distress, there is assurance that the God who has a plan that is ultimately good is going through the anguish with you.
Lord, thank you for always being there - in good times and bad.

Good morning :-)
JESUS SAID ‘FOLLOW ME’
Following Jesus means being aware of a purpose in life that is not self-centred, but (like Jesus himself) is excited by the prospect of making the world a better place.
Following Jesus means that life is not humdrum. Christians often describe it in terms of having discovered an inner peace, a new meaning to life, and an incomparable sense of being loved.
Who wouldn't want that?
Lord, bless those who are taking their first steps with you today. Amen.

Hello all
Still another 10 days before the funeral of my lovely husband. Helen came home yesterday and together with the help of Fr Paul we have put together a Celebration of the Life of her precious Dad. We had tears and hugs and kept breathing deeply but that is all done now and we are both relieved and grateful for Fr Paul's support.
I am still not able to sleep and have little energy during the day. My brain also doesn't seem to want to work or think straight either. One day at a time is enough for now.
Very many grateful thanks to everyone for your prayers and kind words. Appreciated xxx

I guess your poor brain is a bit worn out with all it has had to deal with over recent months kandj - hopefully you may soon be able to get some rest and feel a bit better. <3 <3
Jesus said........
"Will you come and follow me if I but call your name? Will you go where you don’t know and never be the same? Will you let my love be shown, will you let my name be known, will you let my life be grown in you and you in me?"
Love to all Cx :-)
