Good morning :-)

Dear Lord God,

You created balance.
The night to follow the day.
The sea to touch the earth.
All the wonderful animals, fish and birds.
You are the great creator of variety and diversity.
Thank you that you made us all to be unique and reflect your love.
Come draw our family together in all its wonder and beauty.
Help us to love and respect each other.
Show us how to support and encourage one another.
Inspire us to work together to become a picture full of your perfect love.

Amen.

Love to all Cx :-)

What a lovely birthday treat your son arranged for you Cynthia, and good that your family shared the day with you. A close, loving family is such a blessing. I am also fortunate in that respect so I am thinking particularly of those whose relationships are more fraught.

We are living in unstable times so a prayer for our political leaders seems appropriate. At school we used to say a prayer for peace which I still frequently use and there is a line in it that says "Guide with Thy pure and peaceable wisdom those that take counsel for the nations of this earth" and I echo that today.

Have a good Tuesday.

Good morning :-)

Hello Vera and yes, prayers for peace are a good idea and much needed. I didn't recognise the words you quoted though....possibly from a prayer book.

We continue to uphold our families in prayer……..

God bless our family and all its members and friends;
Bind us together by your love.
Give us kindness and patience to support each other;
And wisdom in all we do.
Let the gift of your peace come into our hearts
And remain with us.
May we rejoice in your blessings for all our days. Amen.

Good morning :-)

Yes kandj, my husband's legs are okay again now thank goodness. Hope all went well with your appointment.

Today is St. Peter's Day and we think of all the churches who bear the name of this tempestuous, incredible man. May they be able to pray this prayer.....

Dear God,
This church is a family.
Help us to learn together
To worship together
To share together
To play together
To pray together
To come together
And to reach out to everyone with family love!
Amen.

Today is our 49th wedding anniversary. We are celebrating by OH having his toenails cut! :-D

Good morning :-)

Thank you for your good wishes kandj. We had an ordinary, but pleasant day <3

Whilst we have been praying for our families this week, we must remember that every family has its problems at times. Today we pray for those going through difficult times…..and for ourselves.

Lord look at my family with your eyes of love.
Help us to face difficult times.
I pray you fill our hearts with your peace
Lord I know we can overcome every problem with you.
Amen.

Love to all Cx :-)

Good morning :-)

We think of those families where Saturday comes as a blessed relief from the working week.

Saturday is like a blank page, fresh and new, a pause away from routines and responsibilities. Thank you for rest, for recreation, family and friends.
Lord, thank you for Saturdays.

Amen.

Hello all

Thank you Cynthia for the posting about families this week.

Our family are coming to spend the weekend with us and we are all excited and
looking forward to chatting face to face, sharing time and hugs together.

THANK YOU GOD, for another Saturday, watch over my family and friends and
all who are reading this, bless them in very many ways today. Amen.

Belated happy anniversary Cynthia.

Kandj, have a lovely special time with your family. Family get-togethers give a lot of joy.

One of my granddaughters is 15 today and I so wish I could be with her. I have of course sent a card and gift and a text message but I would love to be there to give her a hug. Still, we are close in spirit and she knows we are thinking of her.

Thinking of all those without family or who are apart for whatever reason.

Good morning :-)

Thank you Vera <3

It looks as though it is going to be a lovely day - the sun is shining brightly through the blinds..........doesn't it make a difference?

The churchwarden and I are endeavouring to get a fresh, new website for the church up and running. My word, it takes some working out. Having ploughed through words such as 'dashboard', 'domains' and 'web hosting', I looked at lots of advice about not being too 'pushy', keeping things clear and simple and that, sometimes, less is better. Now to find out how to work the silly thing!!!!

The Collect (special prayer) for today :

Almighty God,
you have broken the tyranny of sin
and have sent the Spirit of your Son into our hearts
whereby we call you Father:
give us grace to dedicate our freedom to your service,
that we and all creation may be brought
to the glorious liberty of the children of God;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.

The Gospel for today is taken from Matthew 10 and we hear the words of Jesus as he tells us that ”anyone who gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones in the name of a disciple, will not lose their reward.”

Good morning :-)

Feeling a bit lonely around here these days..........but never mind, I press on and hope that someone, somewhere is helped or encouraged. :-)

Somebody loves you more than you know,
Somebody goes with you wherever you go,
Somebody really and truly cares
and lovingly listens to all your prayers …
Don’t doubt for a minute that this is not true,
FOR GOD LOVES HIS CHILDREN and takes care of them, too . . .
And all of his treasures are yours to share
If you love Him completely and show Him you care . . .
And if you “walk in His footsteps” and have the faith to believe,
There’s nothing you ask for that you will not receive!

Good morning :-)

Yes, definitely a lonely place at the moment. Please give a wave if you pass through - no one has to say anything :-D

Dear Lord

Bless the work we do,
the words we say,
the love we share
and the grace we show,
on our daily walk
through this beautiful
and precious world.

Hello all

A gentle wave from me as I feel very fragile and not well having had a surgical procedure yesterday. So relieved this is over and went as well as it could and so
this morning I am thinking why did I worry so much???

Happy Tuesday blessings and a gentle hug to all in need today. xx

Hello all and coooooooeeeeeee Cynthia...... are you having a sleep in??

I am still feeling a little battered and weary and avoiding the mirrors as my face is
still swollen and bruised. Thankful though for the NHS and kind sympathetic staff.

Even if I go through the deepest darkness , I will not be afraid Lord, for you are
beside me always. (Psalm 23 : 4)

Happy Wednesday blessing to everyone looking in today. xxx

Good morning :-)

Oh no.......I wonder why that has happened? I had everything ready for yesterday morning and honestly thought I had posted....so sorry :-(

Poor kandj, all battered and bruised with her recent dental exploits....we wish you well and send our love <3

I come before you O Lord
As the sun rises may your hope rise up in me.
As the birds sing may your love flow out of me.
As the light floods into this new day,
May your joy shine through me.
I come before you, O Lord
And drink in this moment of peace,
That I may carry something of your hope, love and joy
Today in my heart.
Amen.

Poor you, Kandj, I hope the soreness and bruising feels a little easier today.

I know we don't always respond much but we do miss you when you don't post Cynthia. I am always amazed at how many different themes you find for us.

Yesterday I had to take a long coach journey. Our driver gave us a smooth ride and got us safely there and back. Today grandson flies to Croatia for the European archery contest, so thanks today then for all our transport workers and prayers for the safety of all who are travelling by land, sea or air.

Good morning :-)

Thank you for your kind words Vera......it's always encouraging to know that someone is around. Very good luck to your grandson in the competition - he has done incredibly well. Please keep us posted. <3

For today:

Lord, here I am.
It’s another day – Friday.
For some people it’s the end of their working week.
The weekend break is ahead.
Time, maybe, for the family, the garden, sport, odd jobs.
So today Lord, I pray for families,
For parents and children.
I ask your blessing and peace
To be with every family.
Hold them together with a great love for each other.
Amen

Good morning :-)

Lovely morning here in the North West...........now to get some more washing out! :-D

One Day at a Time

One day at a time, with its failures and fears,
With its hurts and mistakes, with its weakness and tears,
With its portion of pain and its burden of care;
One day at a time we must meet and must bear.

One day at a time to be patient and strong,
To be calm under trial and sweet under wrong;
Then its toiling shall pass and its sorrow shall cease;
It shall darken and die, and the night shall bring peace.

One day at a time - but the day is so long,
And the heart is not brave, and the soul is not strong,
O Thou pitiful Christ, be Thou near all the way;
Give courage and patience and strength for the day.

Swift cometh His answer, so clear and so sweet;
"Yea, I will be with thee, thy troubles to meet;
I will not forget thee, nor fail thee, nor grieve;
I will not forsake thee; I never will leave."

Not yesterday's load we are called on to bear,
Nor the morrow's uncertain and shadowy care;
Why should we look forward or back with dismay?
Our needs, as our mercies, are but for the day.

One day at a time, and the day is His day;
He hath numbered its hours, though they haste or delay.
His grace is sufficient; we walk not alone;
As the day, so the strength that He giveth His own.
