Kay????

Kay???? Report 7 Dec 2012 17:58

She only put the call through,,,,,,,she was not the one that gave out any details....I think there is more to this than her taking such an extreme measure as end her life......knowingly leaving 2 young children motherless...such a dark reaction to do.....

Perhaps that is so, the thought had crossed my mind too, but this still does not excuse what has happened. Obviously there are a number of reason that someone would choose to take their life. This poor woman may have felt she had let so many people down and could not stand the shame which may just have been the last straw.

I hope that the pranksters are reminded of what their stupid actions have resulted in every day for the rest of their lives.

Just seen on the news that the poor woman lived in Bristol but stayed in London when on duty so she was away from home, maybe that had some bearing on it.

I think you're right Geordie - there's more to this than meets the eye

GinN Report 7 Dec 2012 17:36

There must have been something else going on in the poor woman's life, and that was just the last straw for her.

I saw the two Australian DJs on the news giving an 'apology' , they were laughing and making it a big joke saying they were surprised that their call was put through. I think under the circumstances most people would take the call as genuine. Who would be brave enough to ask the Queen or Prince Charles for their ID ?

I think it has almost become acceptable for media in all it's forms to say and do what they like, and if they are threatened with sanctions they complain arguing it is 'the freedom of the press' I hope they realise the serious effect their stupid actions have had, not only on the nurse involved but also her family, friends and work colleagues.

I feel ever so sorry for the nurse and the family of course...but i can't help thinking there must be more to it all than just the prank....it's a very extreme reaction that I don't think anyone..the pranksters included could ever have imagined....

Poor woman....x

I thought she was the one the hoaxers spoke to as the Chief Executive said that she had not been reprimanded in any way and they had given her all the support they could

those Australian pillocks should get the sack - just not funny at all to pull a stunt like that, but then look at Jonathon Ross and what he did - he's still working for the BBC- more's the pity

SparklingAnninGlos, Ref; Do we know?

No we Don't but what i do no is that the vast majority of nurses take their responsibilities very seriously and although this nurse was not the nurse who gave out details she will have felt some responsible for not qualifying the call before putting it through to the nurse who did give out info,

Who hand on heart can say 100% that they would have questioned the caller for further ID in this case

The poor woman probably thought she was about to be struck off the medical register

Tragic and yes I agree the idiots from the Australian radio show should be held responsible. That poor family my heart goes out to them.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 7 Dec 2012 16:35

According to the BBC the hospital says she was an excellent nurse who had worked there for more than four years. She had not been suspended or disciplined. she was not the nurse who gave out the details but the one who answered the phone.
