I have just watched the recording of last weeks episode. It was a joy to watch something with no gratuitous violence, no sexual scenes, no swearing, no sreeching, no screaming or fighting. It still managed to portray a very real story extremely well acted. I am looking forward to the forthcoming episodes and seeing the storyline and characters develop. :-D

No it doesn't sound daft Emma, I know what you mean, it was the sort of programme that is relaxing and, yes, makes you feel content. Unlike murder mystery or spooky ones that have you sitting on the edge of your seat but are also enjoyable (but not relaxing). I enjoy The Hours but don't find that relaxing at all. :-)

Loved this and knew i would, what a joy, felt sort of
content watching it (sounds daft I know)
Look forward to next weeks episode, great actors
and special favourite of mine Derek Jacobi, 'I Claudius'
wish they would show that programme again.

Did Anne Reid used to be Val Barlow in the early days of Corrie? And was electrocuted by a hairdryer?

I am sure you will enjoy it Emma, in a sort of way it reminded me of As Time goes by and I loved that too. I shall look forward to next Tuesday.

don't you think anne Reid always has a naughty twinkle in her eyes? I use to like her in Dinner ladies, always with the sharp one liners. And, yes she does look good for 77.

Morning All, Yes we watched it, and after reading about it was really looking forward to it. And, we were not disappointed. not just the main story, but the developing sub stories.
Looking forward to the next episode.

I just finished watching the recording and loved it, will enjoy keeping up with each week.

Strange to see Sarah Lancashire on the screen again so soon afther The Paradise and also odd to see Anne Reid writing letters again lol, I used to love Ladies of Letters with Maureen Lipman as well. Anne Reid is 77, she looks good for her age don't you think?

Thought it was great, gentle humour, a bit of pathos, good actors and lovely scenery.
